About me

When I first began my college career I spent six months and an internship with a residential adolescent treatment facility. During the last seven years of my employment, I was over our adolescent program. The teens were in treatment for various reasons. However, what I found common is an absent parent, too much freedom alone, feeling an excepted by peers, Feeling unworthy as a person. A very large portion of the teens had experienced some level of sexual abuse. This is often linked to some form of addiction.

Cynthia has been a god send in my time of need. She listens without judgement and offered helpful tools to help me get through a tough relationship. I unfortunately need to take a pause but will look forward to reconnecting with her when I return. Thank you for all you do! I feel so much stronger than I did a few weeks ago and I owe it to you!

Cynthia provides valuable support and guidance to help understand a bit more about myself. Understand that it’s important to check on myself on a daily and not to feel at fault for my flaws or behaviors.

It is rare to find an active listener. She loves being of help beyond that, but let's be rea: I don't shut up. That she pays attention is a testament to her strength of will, stg.

Cynthia is an amazing therapist. She’s the best therapist I’ve had in 30 years of therapy. She listens and understands and I never feel rushed or unimportant. My insurance offered to pay for another therapist outside of teencounseling.com but I still pay for BH just so I can keep Cynthia. She’s the best!

We matched on the first try within 24 hours, Still not sure, I was quickly put at ease. Cynthia is an active listener, who remembers past sessions or information in your journals. Remembering is key for me because it shows how much she listens, strives to understand her patient, and makes you accountable.

I'm so glad that I was connected with Cynthia. I'm not someone who talks freely to just anyone about my trauma filled past, and being a few letters in LGBTQ2SIA+. But, I feel comfortable talking with her. She is kind, caring and really listens to me. I feel I'm making a lot of progress.

Cynthia listens and takes in everything I’m saying. I appreciate the way she engages with me. She asks questions, confirms what I’m feeling and provides me with advice and tools I can use to improve my life. I can see and feel things shifting. At first I thought I’d give therapy a month but now I’ll be extending out because the benefits and what I’m learning is so worthwhile. The app itself too is fantastic! It’s nice to know Cynthia is there for me outside of our session times!

Cynthia has been such an amazing therapist, I would highly recommend her to anyone. She has always been wonderfully supportive, providing great insights and guidance. I will really miss speaking with her on a weekly basis but I know feel that it's time I take on the world on my own. I don't think I would be the happy, confident and insightful individual I am today if it wasn't for her support.

Cynthia is really relatable and patient. And provides a very good and safe place for me to just unpack, and be confident she will be there to help me make my way back to a good mental space after a particularly introspective session. Very kind and approachable as well when it comes to deeper themes that could potentially be triggering to talk about with other therapists - Cynthia does her best!
