Curtis Johnson

About Me

I am an experienced Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with individuals and professionals who are ready to be empowered and make positive life changes. I have dealt with a wide range of issues, including sexual identity, anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, behavioral issues, drug and alcohol additions, oppositional defiant disorder, parents' and children relationship issues, and a broad variety of mental illness.
I enjoy a strength-based approach that is compassionate and collaborative. I believe in providing a safe, nonjudgmental environment where a person can learn and grow into the person they want to be. My approach includes positive psychology, solution focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I also have training in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
My approach is to guide you the client to new ways of thinking to help you identify thoughts and feelings that have prevented you from feeling successful.
I have full respect for anyone who has the courage to improve their life through the counseling process. It would be a privilege to be included on your journey.
I look forward to working with you!

We have only had 1 session, but my child was very comfortable with Curtis. We really like that he has LGBTQ experience, and is very open & understanding about Matt's struggles around that.
