About me
I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois. With more than 4 years of professional work experience. I have the most experience working with adolescents ages 13-19 years of age. Young people struggling with depression, anxiety, unresolved grief and trauma, self harm, addiction, bullying and other peer related problems, identity development, and LGBTQ related issues. I also have a strong background working children and families struggling with ADHD and problematic behaviors. Many parents are looking for a safe space for their teen to share in those areas that our children may not be comfortable sharing with us as parents. I rely heavily of DBT focusing on emotional regulation and distress tolerance as well as learning more effective communication techniques. Helping families reconnect with their teen and bridging the gap in communication is one of the biggest rewards working with this population. I have always been a strong advocate for those that I am privileged to serve and to take part in the journey of those empowering themselves to find their voice and be heard. My therapy style is person centered and strengths based. I believe in meeting the client "where they are at" and utilize Motivational Interviewing, active and empathetic listening as well as CBT and DBT therapies. I believe in treating everyone with respect, dignity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
