About me

Hello, my name is Courtney but I go by CC.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. I have worked with children/adolescents for 5+ years in various settings , including; crisis therapy, crisis stabilization, hospitalization, individual therapy, family therapy, and foster care. The disorders I commonly treated are depression, anxiety, conduct disorders, mood disorders, learning disabilities, co-occurring disorders, Autism/ADD/ADHD, suicidal ideation/homicidal ideation, personality disorders , eating disorders, and many more. I have also had years of experience in family therapy as I believe it is of high importance when dealing with adolescents.

Not many counselors can handle working with teenagers, but for over 2 years I worked specifically with at risk youth who either got in trouble with the law or their schools. I have worked closely with teachers, principles, DSS, and conduct officers trying to best help these kids. When it comes to seeking mental health help for your children you want to make sure you pick a counselor who is able to get past their walls/defenses and meet your child where they are. I not only have the patience to meet kids where they are but I also have the passion and determination to get past their walls/defenses.

I would love to help you and your child begin the journey of healing and going back to a place of happiness and peace.

I love Courtney! I’ve never done therapy before so I was a little skeptical, but she is so helpful! I feel like I can tell her anything and she always responds the best way and has a plan to help me with my problems. I feel like she is really helping me overcome some issues I have! I just overall feel better being able to talk to her and message her whenever.

Understanding, professional, and kind. She has been extremely helpful, insightful, and kind throughout each conversation and session. Versus trying to make the facts for the matter fit her conclusions, she works with you to uncover the truth with you on your journey to better mental health and fitness.

She is amazing. From day one she was chatting with me. My family visited and she reached out to me to make sure I was doing ok. She's made herself available on multiple days in multiple formats, and that has really helped a lot. She's been awesome so far.

Written on Oct 21, 2019 after therapy with Courtney for 1 month on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, and grief

I began working with Courtney during a time when I was very anxious, overwhelmed, stressed, and needing someone to help me work through the chaos in my mind. Courtney was so empathetic, understanding, and non-judgmental, and encouraged me to let go of things that were no longer serving me. Courtney always checked in to see how I was doing if I hadn't been messaging her and that meant a lot to me. I felt respected, heard, and validated. I would recommend her to anyone.

I "met" Courtney on here when I was dealing with bad anxiety on a consistent basis for the first time in my life and she has been an incredible help these last few months. Very understanding and helpful without criticizing or judging. I would definitely recommend her if you are new to this group and need help.

I met Courtney when I was at a pretty low place, feeling stuck trying to fix everything on my own. Since talking to her I've felt more confident and hopeful in my day to day life. She doesn't judge and she's always there with a different perspective, advice, or the right questions to get me thinking.
