Hello, my name is Courtney but I go by CC.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. I have worked with children/adolescents for 5+ years in various settings , including; crisis therapy, crisis stabilization, hospitalization, individual therapy, family therapy, and foster care. The disorders I commonly treated are depression, anxiety, conduct disorders, mood disorders, learning disabilities, co-occurring disorders, Autism/ADD/ADHD, suicidal ideation/homicidal ideation, personality disorders , eating disorders, and many more. I have also had years of experience in family therapy as I believe it is of high importance when dealing with adolescents.
Not many counselors can handle working with teenagers, but for over 2 years I worked specifically with at risk youth who either got in trouble with the law or their schools. I have worked closely with teachers, principles, DSS, and conduct officers trying to best help these kids. When it comes to seeking mental health help for your children you want to make sure you pick a counselor who is able to get past their walls/defenses and meet your child where they are. I not only have the patience to meet kids where they are but I also have the passion and determination to get past their walls/defenses.
I would love to help you and your child begin the journey of healing and going back to a place of happiness and peace.

Courtney has been very supportive and helpful during this very difficult time. I really appreciate that she would check in with me on a regular basis to see how I was doing, that really helped not feel like I was on my own through this trail.
I "met" Courtney on here when I was dealing with bad anxiety on a consistent basis for the first time in my life and she has been an incredible help these last few months. Very understanding and helpful without criticizing or judging. I would definitely recommend her if you are new to this group and need help.
Courtney is wonderful! She is thoughtful, caring, and down to earth. She listens well and can empathize while keeping a clinical view. I really appreciate her insight and have grown personally through counseling. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
Courtney has been very compassionate with my needs. She is a good decoder of my frantic messages, selecting what is critical to respond to and what is not. She has great insight o n parenting and relationships. I have appreciated her attempts to help. She is non judgmental and has a calm tone and soothing approach. I appreciate her very much.
I met Courtney when I was at a pretty low place, feeling stuck trying to fix everything on my own. Since talking to her I've felt more confident and hopeful in my day to day life. She doesn't judge and she's always there with a different perspective, advice, or the right questions to get me thinking.
Courtney Grossnickle is extremely caring! I can tell she has a big heart and she is dedicated to helping me get through tough days. She always checks on me to see how I am doing and has given me some of the best coping methods. I really appreciate her!
