Thank you for being here and for visiting my profile. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Southern California where I also completed my undergraduate studies in social sciences and Spanish language. I have 20 years of experience in hospitals/healthcare (primarily pediatrics) as well as mental health settings.
I'm particularly knowledgeable about assisting adolescents who struggle with health conditions and illness, grief and loss, bereavement issues, school/peer/bullying issues, trauma, abuse, depression and anxiety. One special interest of mine is supporting those who have lost loved ones to suicide. I enjoy working with teens from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
I often incorporate a holistic, integrative approach meaning that I draw from multiple modalities including cognitive behavioral, trauma-informed and strengths-based. From my viewpoint as a clinician, human functioning and behavior stem from many life experiences and aspects of our lives: psychological, cognitive biological/physical/medical, genetic, developmental, familial, social, educational/employment/career, spiritual, cultural and societal.
It's important that we search for optimal ways together to maximize individual adaptive coping skills, to broaden insight and to make positive, practical steps towards change.
In addition to my employment, I've volunteered for several community organizations and non-profits that support healthcare, mental health and/or education. One of my favorite volunteer positions has been serving as a Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line. I also have great appreciation for nature and the arts.
My colleagues describe me as compassionate, empathetic and invested in my clients' well-being. I'm dedicated to making the most of any therapeutic experience.

Claudia had been amazing . I have worked with her for about 2 months and she is very helpful, kind and attentive . She really shows compassion and provides many valuable tools . Thank you Claudia !
I've worked with Claudia for almost a year, and she is wonderfully empathetic, respectful, and thoughtful in her approach towards counseling. During an extremely difficult part of my life, being able to talk with Claudia every day contributed enormously to my growth as a person and to my ability to cope with the challenges I was facing.
Claudia is one of the most helpful and genuinely kind counselors I’ve ever gone to. She handles every issue with grace and expertise and I’m very grateful for all the help she’s given me.
Claudia is kind and supportive and very responsive.
Claudia has been really great and helped me to understand my feelings a lot better. I appreciate the service hugely.
Claudia has been absolutely wonderful. She is understanding, proactive and always has additional advice and provides helpful resources on top of our usual discussion. She’s been wonderful - I feel lucky to have gotten connected with her here on teen counseling.
After my first session with Claudia I already felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. I just wish I could have found her and teen counseling sooner!
