About me
Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in private practice. I graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in direct practice in the Social Service Administration program. With a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology.
Since earning my degree, I have worked with individual adults, teens, and families. While gaining experience by working in various settings, I developed a deep passion for youth. I continued to work with teens and families in a community-based mental health agency. I use CBT, Solution Focus, and Family Systems Therapy to help you gain insight and understanding of systems impacting feelings, emotions, and behavior.
I believe patience and understanding are critical components that allow clients the time they need to develop a trusting relationship with their therapist.
I believe in meeting my clients where they are and what they want to work on. I develop treatment plans to encourage clients to evaluate their progress, not to judge.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Charley Smith. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Charley has helped me greatly.
Definitely a good fit for me the conversation doesnt feel forced or like Im talking to myself and he genuinely cares what i say and feel
I've only had one session so far with Charley but I felt comfortable and "heard". I'm looking forward to meeting with him again.
