Hello, my name is Celia Gardner. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Wisconsin.
I've been in the counseling field for 16 years, working in a variety of settings and with different age groups. A specific area of interest for me is working with adolescents. I worked with adolescents placed in foster care for several years and during this time gained helpful skills in learning to engage with them. I have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Care and Adoption Competency.
I recognize one of the most difficult things for someone going through depression, anxiety or history of trauma is to make that first move for help. Once that first step is taken, the next steps come a little bit easier. As a parent of an adolescent, you may feel hopeless and frustrated, but there is light at the end of the tunnel!
I believe 80% of an individual's success in therapy is based on their relationship with the counselor. In my experience, I have been able to gain clients' trust and comfort level to enable a positive relationship and the ability to delve into their life's challenges.
I'm happy to answer any questions you may have to help make a decision on a counselor.

Celia is an amazing therapist! I was very hesitant about starting counseling as it can be very intimidating thing for a lot of people. I mean you’re sharing very personal things about your life with someone you don’t even know. But talking with Celia for almost over a year now has helped me out so much in my life. She’s very attentive to what you’re saying and really puts herself in your shoes. She always makes sure that you’re comfortable and she’s created a safe space where I can go and speak to her. She does her best to find solutions and tools to best help with the situations we find ourselves in. I’ve really enjoyed her being mr counselor and she really goes above and beyond for me. Greatest person I’ve ever known. She’s definitely the best to go with ! I absolutely love her and she’ll always have an impact on my life in the best way possible!

Celia makes counseling so easy. She's good at keeping the conversation going and she helps point out things that I hadn't even noticed about my concerns. She is very good at feeding positive thoughts and is a good listener.
