About me
Hello. My name is Cassandra Sams (please call me Sandy), and I have over 20 years of experience working as a counselor. I graduated from Georgia State University with a Specialist in Education degree in traumatology. I have spent 2 years working in a Children's Advocacy Center in Central Florida, as well as 7 years working in an adolescent treatment facility in the same area. I love working with children and adolescents. I am always impressed with their resiliency and their ingenuity in coping with life's difficulties. However, I also enjoy working with adults who are in the midst of mid-life changes as they are often on the same journey of self-discovery as adolescents.
My approach when working with adolescents is to first acquire a comprehensive background assessment from the parents and to continue this conversation with families every 4th or 5th session or as the parent desires. Safety concerns are reviewed with parents and they are encouraged to be present in the home at the time of the telehealth session. With adolescents, I enjoy using art therapy to assist them in opening up and sharing information about themselves and their challenges. They are encouraged to find a place within the home where they feel safe and where they feel they can have some privacy with which they are comfortable. Discussions of privacy are discussed with both parents and the child.
From my perspective, my role is to be a facilitator to helping the adolescent navigate the life challenges that are presented to them in a responsible way and to encourage open communication with their family about these challenges. My hope is that adolescents will leave sessions with me feeling heard and understood and that they may have some alternative suggestions to consider regarding the obstacles they may have in their lives.

Cassandra is very experienced, yet communicates in a softer way that helps me communicate openly and honestly. She has a lot of experience, always has suggestions for my problems. Highly recommended.
She’s really helped me to find peace within myself and navigate through a lot of life’s challenges. My weekly sessions have enabled me to grow a lot! I notice a big change within my self with how I deal with situations thanks to Cassandra
Sandy is an amazing therapist. I love her calm demeanor. She listens and gets to the root of the issue quickly and gives helpful and realistic solutions.
I’ve been working with Cassandra for about 6 months now and I really feel like I have formed a bond with her. She offers me a safe and judgement-free space to share my thoughts, while helping me identify what I need to work on. Her words of wisdom and encouragement really help me through my rough times and help me embrace the good times as well. I’m so glad I was matched with her and will continue to work with her!
Great therapist that will give you insight on anything you want to know.

Very kind and let's you talk and listens. Very chilled and friendly.
Cassandra Sams is a wonderful person who lends a keen ear for you to ‘lay it all out.’ I feel honored to have had her as my therapist and wish her and her patients all the success to behold.
Sandy is like talking to a friend. She offers a variety of ways to help you through your concerns. There is no pressure to share, but she welcomes it and let’s you lead. Has been extremely helpful for me in talking through personal issues.
Cassandra is great!
I have truly enjoyed my sessions with Cassandra. She Listens to me, has an open mind to find solutions and thinks of alternative points of view or new techniques I really like and enjoy trying. Especially with issues I didn’t think there were other possible solutions for. She’s empathetic while also being honest. We talk about marriage, life, career, kids, discipline, and she has great expertise and input on it all, Thank you ❤️
Thank you
Sandy has been very helpful and helping me resolve my issues. She is very nice, respectful and funny. Sometimes, she makes me laugh out loud. And that is definitely something I need. I highly recommend Sandy for anyone
