About me
I am a licensed clinical social worker, licensed in Wisconsin, with over 9 years of experience working as a psychotherapist and 15 years working in the field of beahvioral health. I have worked with clients, across the lifespan, on a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance use, self-injury, grief and more. I have also helped many people who have been impacted by trauma.
I have spent 5 of my 8+ clinical years providing therapy services to at risk youth in local middle and high schools, and I really enjoy working with young people. There are so many unique challenges for teenagers to navigate today and often times they can really benefit from having some extra support. It can be really helpful for teenagers to have a nonjudgemental adult in their lives who they can be open and honest with, without fear of consequences.
My therapy style is collaborative , warm and strengths based. I believe in taking a holistic approach to wellness and considering the whole person - spritiual, physical and emotional. In addtion to my professional education, I have had extra training in dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. I have also completed yoga teacher training in India in 2019 and some concepts from yoga can be integrated into our work if clients are interested in this.
I would welcome the opportunity to walk along side your family through any challenges and help support personal growth.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Cassandra Abel. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Cassandra has been nothing short of amazing. She is extremely attentive and listens, while offering very helpful advice. I have always felt very comfortable talking to her about any and every thing, and she is very reassuring. 100/10, I highly recommend her!
Cassandra has been so helpful and supportive in my therapy journey. She listened and offers attainable suggestions for my concerns.
So far i'm very impressed with the response time and the things they are talking about in 1:1 sessions. Cassandra seems very confident and always gives good feedback.
Cassandra has been wonderful! She is easy to talk to and very professional.
Cassandra was amazing to work with. I came into therapy over four months ago really struggling with decades old trauma from childhood that had been impacting my life for a long time. She gave me such great care and compassion and was such a safe person for me to heal with. The tools, exercises and information she used in her work with me have been life changing. I highly recommend Cassandra as she is tops at her profession and is so good at what she does to give hope and a path forward to a better and more fulfilling life.
Cassandra Abel is a very caring and compassionate person. She listens to what I have to say, gives me suggestions on how to deal with certain issues, and seems to understand what I am going through. I am thankful I have her as my therapist.
I don't really know how to begin this, but Cassandra helped me out so much. I came to her after losing a friend to suicide. She helped me find ways to grieve in healthy ways, and understand why I was feeling certain feelings. She also helped me connect with my inner emotions on how to deal with stress, anxiety, depression, and even how manage unfortunate events with family. Cassandra is not only a great listener, but active helper. I can't thank Cassandra enough for helping me through my grieving journey.
She is really nice and good
