About Me

During 14 years as a therapist, I have enjoyed helping families and individuals improve emotions, thinking patterns and relationships to live more fulfilled lives. My training (Trauma Focused CBT, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy,Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy, etc) has provided me the opportunity to work with behavioral and emotional disturbances in children and teens, parenting, conflict resolution, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, and school related concerns. I enjoy working from a systemic approach to explore all aspects of a person's life, and this greatly increases the likelihood of success for the individuals and families I counsel.

My therapy approach is supportive, yet directive. I see you as the expert and I am here to assist you with the tools you need along the way. This means, I will provide you with a caring environment to be open and expressive, I will ask you questions to help understand more about you, and I will use a variety of techniques to help you decide the best course of action that you would like to take for the circumstances impacting you.

Let me tell you a little about myself! I have been married to my husband and best friend for 20 years. We have two great kids, ages 9 and 14, who keep us very busy with all their activities, such as drumming, soccer, cross country, and basketball. We have a dog named Cash and two guinea pigs names Willow and Blossom. We love going to movies, concerts, and being active.

Candace has been a huge help. She is very quick to respond, which I greatly appreciate. She even scheduled a last minute phone call with me when I needed help the most; taking time out of her outside scheduled hours. I feel she truly cares about helping me and I recommend her to anyone. Her advice has been very valuable. I look forward to working with her more. Thank you so much, Candace!

Candace Newland has been able to identify some key issues for me within just a few interactions. I can tell that she really listens to what I have to say even though it is in a written format. I am grateful I have this avenue of counseling given my busy schedule at the moment.

Candace Newland did an amazing job helping me through the struggles of being a step-dad, and adapting to my new responsibilities. I have difficulty asking for help since my wife has so much on her plate, but Candace showed me ways to better communicate with my wife as well as my step children. I fully recommend Candace, and in the future, should I require more assistance, will be seeking her out! Thanks for everything!
