About me

I am a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years of experience working with adolescents and young adults. I have worked with kids who are in foster care, kids who have experienced overwhelming challenges, and kids who have been neglected and hurt. Most of the teens and young adults I have worked with will tell you that our work together made a difference in their lives. Its been really important to me as a counselor to advocate for my clients. Teens are just finding their uniqueness and their voice in a world that sometimes fails to hear their needs. As we grow into adults, the challenge that faces us is bringing that voice into strength, believing in ourselves, and being able to place our brand on the world. While I can't say that our experiences are the same, I do remember looking out at the adult world and finding that mentors and allies were rare. So I have a lot of compassion for teens who are experiencing the challenges of "growing up". I want to be that voice of advocacy, a friendly ear, a mentor. If you are a teen reading this, my promise to you is that I will help you to get what you want out of this time in your life. I believe that the things you are already passionate about can help you to grow. The media you watch, the games you play, the things you get excited about,; these will all be used in our therapy to help you achieve your goals. I look forward to having the opportunity to talk with each of you, and I appreciate your willingness to reach out for support.

Brent has been instrumental in my son’s wellbeing. He quickly developed a rapport with my son. He has helped my son to gain confidence in himself, given my son the tools he needs in his life and supported my son throughout the process. I cannot thank Brent enough for the impact he has had on my son. Brent has been by my sons side through various challenging times and it’s been so great as a parent to know that Brent is there supporting him in a way that he needs. I would recommend Brent to anyone looking for support for their teenage children. Best of all, my son feels able to continue on his life journey without Brent by his side. Brent has provided my son with the toolset he needs to do that. My son has grown so much as a result. And is utilising this knowledge daily in his life.

Brent is the best therapist I've had. He has a patience and peaceful energy that creates for a very calm and comfortable atmosphere, which I haven't experienced with other therapists. His insight on anxiety management and meditation practice has helped me immensely already. I would recommend him to anyone!

Brent is by far the person I needed to talk with.
I have had only a few sessions with him but I can tell he knows what he is doing. He follows my situation with care and attention, and he remembers details we talked over time which are totally relevant. He is also very emphatic and I can tell he know how to stay neutral while driving the direction of my sessions properly.
I am happy that I found him and He is helping me to unwrap a complex anxiety and life story.

Brent is exceptionally good at empathy; he makes me feel heard and understood and cared for. Often I found myself recalling his words of advice in my day to day life, and have seen myself head toward more mentally healthy path because of him.

Brent is our first counsellor, so I don't have much to compare him to, but I will say that he has been very responsive to what I've had to say, very present in our conversation, and a fair referee in our dynamic. I appreciate his perspective and his calm, even soft, approach to "calling out". He is very patient. I'm looking forward to working with him more.

Brent has been very helpful and understanding. He’s a great listener and has helped me frame the issues I’m struggling with and reason through the decisions I have to make. I feel very comfortable talking to him and would recommend him to anyone seeking therapy.
