About me
Brannon Pruet has been working in the mental health field across the United States for the past twenty-six years. Moving to CO in 1998, Brannon has served as a clinician in two community mental health centers as a case worker and a residential counselor. In addition, he has extensive inpatient psychiatric experience as a counselor/therapist in various metropolitan hospitals providing 1:1 psychotherapy, milieu management, and group therapy facilitation. For 15 years, Brannon has offered crisis assessment services/behavioral health management in the emergency room at St. Anthony Hospital. In 2015, Brannon helped launch the clinical services at Sandstone Care where he has worked in the capacity of adolescent and young adult primary therapist, program director and lead mental health therapist. Dr. Pruet opened an Aurora based private practice in 2006.
Brannon received his doctorate in Psychology from Grand Canyon University. He received his Master’s degree in Counseling from Denver Seminary and his Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Medicine/History from Auburn University. In addition, he has completed significant graduate theological studies at Duke University. Dr. Pruet is an ordained evangelical Christian minister through New Horizon Ministry since 2006. Moreover, Brannon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado and a Certified Addiction Specialist, as well. In the community, he is affiliated with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI). With NAMI’s help Brannon seeks to remove the stigma of mental illness, to lobby for legislative changes regarding behavioral health issues, and to provide quality, affordable psychiatric care for the Denver metro area. For his efforts, Brannon received a Hero in the Fight Award in 2007.
Due to his wealth of experience in acute psychiatric settings, Brannon treats a variety of chronic and persistent mental illness such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar, PTSD, Major Depression, and Anxiety Disorders. In addition, he works with individuals suffering from substance abuse and addiction problems as well as with those with bereavement and grief issues. Brannon also offers couple, marital, and family counseling. In terms of a theoretical approach, Dr. Pruet utilizes an eclectic fusion of Cognitive Behavioral, Client-Centered, EMDR, and Solution-Focused methodologies. Most importantly, Brannon’s Christian faith forms the foundation of his practice. Thus, he adopts a biblical worldview and believes that nurturing the spirit is integral to healing both the body and the mind.

Doc is a great therapist! He knows what to say to help me get through whatever I’m going through at that time. He checks in on me regularly and gets back to me in a timely manner as well. I wouldn’t be doing as good as I am right now without his help.
My children and I enjoy chatting with Dr. Pruet. He’s a good listener and he gives practical strategies that are applicable to us. We look forward to our sessions with him.
I wouldn’t be here without the help of Dr. Pruet. He has been an absolute lifesaver and I look forward to every session. Cannot recommend enough! Thank you Dr Pruet!
Dr Pruet is a remarkable therapist. The way he speaks to you makes you feel comfortable and heard. He is extremely skilled at focusing on solutions and knows how to get right to them.
So down to earth and and never judgmental. Makes it easy to just talk.
Dr Pruet is a considerate therapist with experience to back up his natural talents. If it wasn’t for him, I would have been in a darker place. I owe the good doctor for teaching me the skills to manage my mental conditions, and for reframing my perspectives on life.
I know that Dr. Pruet understands our needs and has identified problem areas we need to work on. Especially me. I want to keep growing and be able to address any situation with confidence that I will make the right decision.all the time. My ways were failing and I was going to find myself with no relationship at all. I am so grateful that we are working together and I look forward to our next session. I can't wait to see what's in store for my partner and I's future. Thank you for your knowledge, experience and guidance Dr Pruet. God bless.
Great therapist. Could not be more pleased with my experience with Dr Pruett!
LOVE Dr. Pruet. He is very attentive to my needs. He regularly checks in on me to make sure I’m ok and he responds to my messages quickly. He is very knowledgeable in all things regarding my care. Dr. Pruet responds very well to my feedback whenever I’d like to try something different in my treatment plan. I felt an instant connection with him, which I was not expecting at all, because I usually stay away from all male therapists. He is very warm and welcoming, open and approachable. Anyone, male or female, with any kind of trauma in their past, would do well with Dr. Pruet.
