About me
I am an LCSW in Pennsylvania with over 20 years of experience working with children and families, specializing in mood disorders, anxiety disorders and self injurious behaviors.
Over the years I have worked with children in multiple levels of care including inpatient, partial, residential treatment, and specialized foster care. In my private practice and community outpatient work I have provided stabilization services working closely with inpatient and partial programs to support newly discharged clients and their families. I was a trusted partner providing level of care assessments for a local school district, in addition to supporting families, through parent training, crisis intervention, family therapy and group therapy for teens. More recently as a program manager, I managed a team of clinical supervisors, therapists, and administrative staff working to provide school based mental health services supporting students in 5 school districts across two counties.
As much as I love providing clinical supervision, being a therapist and helping people directly is my true passion. I have always really enjoyed working with adolescents and young adults in particular.
I am also a parent, and have a child who was diagnosed with PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections). I have since tried to be an educator for mental health and medical professionals, as well as an advocate for parents of children who have been diagnosed or are seeking diagnosis and treatment for PANDAS. Experiencing this crisis in my own family only heightens my holistic approach to mental health. I also know how valuable parent support can be when your family is faced with a health crisis.
I would describe my style as warm, supportive, genuine and direct. I recognize that securing your trust is key in developing a productive therapeutic working relationship. In terms of my approach, I believe our experiences shape the way we see the world which can lead to patterns that are no longer serving us. Our thoughts impact the way we feel, and insight into these connections can move us towards change and healing.
I recognize the decision to engage in therapy can be a difficult one. I promise to provide you with a safe space for us to work towards the goals you have set for yourself and make the changes you want to see in your life.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Brandi Bentrim. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Brandi had been excellent at helping my daughter get through some really difficult times lately .
She is prompt and keeps me in the loop concerning my daughters needs .
She seems to genuinely care and is the first therapist in 4 years that takes the time and really listens .
I have absolutely no complaints! Brandi has always been attentive and listens to me and checks in on me when I’m quiet. She’s sweet and caring and gives me homework to build the skills I need to get through this tough time.
I had experience with a couple of therapists in the past... No one doesn't even get close to Brandi. Her profile should not be mixed in with the other therapists... BH, have a special page for her to stand out!
Patience, compassion, intelligence, experience, knowledge.... What else can one ask for.... I almost don't want to get better so I can keeping getting support for her lol
Brandi is insightful, kind, professional, and truly caring. She balances validation with encouraging growth, and incorporates helpful homework and resources. I highly recommend her :)
