About Me
My formal education has prepared me to counsel individual adults, adolescents, and children; groups; couples; parents; and families. I have completed specific course work in working with at-risk youth, LGBTQ population, individual with gender related issues, chemically dependent individuals, individuals/group in crisis situations, and clients with personality disorders. Currently, I hold a doctorate in professional counseling and a license of professional counseling. I currently work as a director of therapeutic service and student support service for a achievement school district in the Delta of Mississippi.
Counseling Background
I have worked with the following populations: Elderly (Caring Days, Community Counseling Services), Intellectually Disable (Community Counseling Services), At-risk youth children/adolescents with behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric issues (Diamond Grove Center), addicts, and college population. As previously stated, I offer individual, group, and family services to individual with personal, behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric issues. My theoretical orientation is Reality Therapy, which is cognitive based in its approach, due to my alignment with William Glasser perspective on human nature and behavior. His beliefs align with not helping people find defenses for their negative or inappropriate behaviors, but helping them acknowledge their behavior as being inappropriate or negative and then to learn how to act in a more logical and productive manner.

Wonderful person. Listens to me, takes care in the things he says to me,
Always available and proactive at reaching out when I am disconnected. He ensures that I am okay and provides words of encouragement. Understands all the factors to maintain healthy relationships and understanding not only the why behind actions but also tactical things to do to improve.
Dr. Goodwin is by far the best counsellor I’ve had - he does more to offer actionable advice and stays away from coddling so I’m not just nurturing unhealthy ways of thinking about my situation, there’s more perspective given there. He references techniques that are established, scary but helpful because you don’t engage in therapy to feel comfortable, and that has been very useful in only 2 sessions.
I don't know Aurthur too well yet, but from the one session I've had, I'm already feeling good about the journey I'm about to take with his help!
Persistant and caring...
Arthur is extremely attentive and always takes time to push me to work on myself. He doesn’t just validate everything he encourages me to find the truth in everything and be real.
My experience with Dr. Goodwin was very positive overall. He was very welcoming and understanding with my struggles and concerns. I would highly recommend him to other teen counseling users.
Arthur is attentive, supportive and compassionate. He's helped me tackle many of the issues and I've found myself on a path of improvement and self-actualization. Thank you Arthur!
Dr. Goodwin is so great I highly recommend him he’s a great listener very wise definitely one of the best
I just started working with Dr. Goodwin, but so far I've enjoyed it.
Within few sessions, Aurthur added a positive change to my life! Great listener, very passionate and caring. He is a life changer!
He was a perfect match for me!
They are fantastic. It has been helping me a lot to talk with Dr. Goodwin.
He has been listening and he has a pretty good idea on how to work with me. He has found ways that I am comfortable following. Overall a real good doctor!
So far the help I have received from him has made a very big impact in my life.. I’m still learning.. he supports me and he respects me in any decision I make and he has made it clear that the decision is ultimately mine but he will support me no matter what it is.. I have been to previous councelors who have told me what to do and what not to do..
Dr Goodwin is an excellent counseler. His method is very down to Earth. I also like that he gives additional reading to continue to work on things that we work on during our sessions. Highly recommend.
Dr. Goodwin is very kind and listens to your thoughts and concerns. He seems genuinely interested in helping me manage my anxiety and depression. He's given me homework that has helped me move forward. I would recommend especially to people who have severe anxiety as I do.
Dr. Goodwin has been an amazing resource for myself and husband this year. He took his time to understand and get to know us both. And gave us the tools to be able to work out our issues. He created a safe space for us to share. And objectively also helped us individually work on our gaps. It feels really great to have a neutral party helping us in the present and giving us tools to help us moving forward. It’s been a great experience!
