About me

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the District of Columbia and Virginia. Asia Vianna Leak aims to hold safe space for youth and adults to navigate the discomfort that comes with healing and growth. Asia Vianna believes that every person is born complete, with everything they need to thrive in this life and aims for her clients to see that capacity within themselves.

Asia is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she studied Clinical Mental Health Counseling, while also completing additional coursework in Dance/Movement Therapy through the Harkness Dance Center in New York. Asia is a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Dance/Movement Therapist and an Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher. Asia’s eclectic practice of counseling combines trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy with narrative theory and EMDR as well as somatic & mindfulness-based theories. She works to empower her clients by deepening their understanding of the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors, while assisting them in reauthoring the stories of their lives through working to resolve traumatic and adverse experiences. In session, Asia offers various mindfulness and mind-body connection exercises, as a way to strengthen her clients relationship with themselves.

Asia has always had a passion for working with children and adolescents. That passion led to the creation of The Waiting Game © 2016; a therapeutic board game designed to help children experiencing the loss surrounding the incarceration of a parent. Asia loves using play interventions with her clients. Additionally, Asia is passionate about movement and uses both dance therapy and yoga as a tool to support her client’s journey to mental wellness. Asia believes in the power of movement as a way to befriend the body and find emotional healing. Asia wholeheartedly believes that true restoration is absolutely possible.
