About me
Hello! My name is Ashley. I am a Master's level, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I have been providing counseling services for about 6 years. I have experience in working with children as young as 8, adolescents, teens and adults. I currently specialize in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), working for one of only two Marsha Linehan Certified DBT programs in all of Illinois. In doing so, I counsel those who struggle with personality disorders, mood disorders, such as anxiety or depressive disorders, self harm behaviors, PTSD, OCD, trauma, grief and various addictions. I also commonly work with those who fear abandonment, feel lost in life, do not feel as though they truly know who they are or what their values are, and currently use ineffective coping mechanisms. I utilize interventions such as chain analysis, radical genuineness, and sincere validation. My treatment often incorporates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, as well, teaching the strong relationship between our thoughts, emotions and behaviors. I incorporate mindfulness and radical acceptance into much of my therapeutic process. In working with me, you will learn many skills necessary for living mindfully, developing and maintaining effective relationships, regulating difficult emotions and managing emotional crisis situations. I provide therapy in individual, group and family settings; leading both our adult and adolescent skills training groups. In addition, I am an artist, and love to be able to incorporate art into the therapy I provide when possible.
My goal is provide therapy at the highest ethical standards, allowing my clients to feel safe and comfortable in a non-judgemental environment. It is among my highest values in life to be kind, empathetic and honest. I love DBT and being able to help my clients, when it seems like no other form of therapy works. I am excited to be able to share my knowledge of life skills to a broader area through the era of telehealth services.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ashley Dehn. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Ashley is always helpful, a great listener and gives good tips to help manage my anxieties. I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone.
I LOVE Ashley. She is a wonderful therapist who is extremely knowledgeable and always makes me feel seen and understood. She has helped me so much!
Ashley is great at listening. She knows me and remembers what we’ve talked about in the past and makes connections between things I talk about in different sessions. She also has helped me learn some techniques and strategies for dealing with different problems that I have been having. She is compassionate, open, and nonjudgmental and is by far the best therapist I have ever gone to.
Ashley is great! She listens & offers solutions to what I can do to get through things in a healthy way
We came to the app looking for pre-marital counseling. Ashley has been empathetic, pragmatic, and truly great to work with. We feel comfortable with her relaxed style and have gotten a lot out of our time.
