About me

Finding the right therapist can be hard, especially when you're a teen or young adult. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed and simply don't know where to turn for help? Perhaps you're experiencing school stress, self-esteem challenges, depression and anxiety, or difficulties coping with a traumatic event in your life. No matter what brings you to counseling, I am committed to providing a positive and relaxed therapy experience for teens through empathy, active listening, respect, and acceptance. Together, we will address only the issues that you want to work on and feel comfortable exploring. We'll also find simple but effective coping skills you can use in your everyday life to manage unpleasant feelings and thoughts. I want you to be able to leave each counseling session feeling respected, heard and more confident and empowered to take on whatever life is throwing at you right now.

I am actively licensed in the United States as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC, NCC). I have specialized experience working exclusively with teens and adolescents, as well as family therapy. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Counseling. I have 15+ years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked in a wide array of behavioral health settings, including outpatient, inpatient, residential settings, academic settings, behavioral health hospitals and most recently in a psychiatric emergency department assessing risk of harm in children and adolescents experiencing mental health crises. I have experience working with individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including mood & anxiety disorders, substance abuse, grief and loss, relationship/family/parenting issues, anger difficulties, eating disorders or issues, psychotic episodes and even supporting parents of young people with developmental delays and ASD. I am open to both secular counseling or counseling from a religious or spiritual perspective.

I utilize a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and person-centered approach to therapy, meaning that I aim to help you find your own solutions to your problems by exploring how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all interconnected. I strive to create a comfortable, non-judgmental environment for both teens and their parents or caregivers. I want teens to feel in control of what is discussed in counseling and to know that they are an integral part of their treatment planning as well. I am readily available to provide support or guidance to parents concerning the counseling process, or answer any questions or concerns that you might have. I offer flexible scheduling times to help ensure that your teen receives reliable support and adequate communication, attention, and care throughout the entire therapy experience. I would be honored to have the opportunity to work with you and/or your teen during this important and challenging time in your life!

****COMMUNICATION & THERAPY PREFERENCES: In addition to 24/7 unlimited messaging, I am only available for weekly text-based chat sessions. I am temporarily not available for regular video or phone-based sessions, but I plan to resume these modes of therapy in the coming months. Therefore, I would encourage you to seek out another counselor if you are in need of regular video or phone appointments at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience.

I assure you that your sessions will be confidential and in compliance with the ethical standards set forth by the American Counseling Association.

I had initially been paired with one counselor, after our first meeting I could tell it wasn’t a match. So when looking through my options, I came across Anna. Reading her profile, something just felt right... she has been exactly what I’ve needed. She quickly made me feel comfortable and gave me the opportunity to discuss what I felt were the issues, helped me dig deeper and unload some deep stuff that I was going through, and had been holding on to for a while.
