Andrea Bellissimo

About Me

Welcome! I am delighted that we may begin working together to help you better cope with stress and meet your life goals.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New York with eight years’ experience providing therapeutic counseling to teens, young adults, and families. I have an additional five years’ experience in educational counseling with middle-school through college-age students. I have helped clients with a wide range of issues not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, LGBTQIA issues, family dynamics, and stress management.

I truly believe that no one is too young to make substantive change and live life more fully. I use a combination of modalities including psychodynamic and behavioral approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.

My therapeutic style is warm and interactive. I see therapy as a collaborative process in which we work as a team, in a supportive and judgment-free environment, to develop the skills you want to develop and pursue the goals you want to pursue. Everyone’s personality, wants, and needs are different, and everyone’s therapeutic process will vary accordingly. My job is to guide you through your own personalized journey, managing daily struggles and leading towards long-term growth and fulfillment.

Starting therapy is a brave step. If you are ready to jump in and explore, challenge, and change your life with me, I look forward to supporting you!

I wanted to submit this review before I end my counseling with Andrea. During our time together she helped me so much and I’m so grateful and thankful for everything she did for me. She’s not judgmental at all and always helped me no matter how stubborn I acted. She’s funny too. The start of corona was a dark place for me and she really helped pull me out. I hope we don’t have to meet again in the best way. Thank you so much for all of your help. I hope you continue to help others :)
