Are you a parent who is concerned about your adolescent or young adult? Has your family life or marriage become chaotic? Is your teen engaging in risk-taking behaviors, or are they isolating themselves in their room? Are they having problems with a peer group or having school problems such as underachievement, truancy or fighting? Do you think that they be being bullied or cyber-bullied by other kids? Are you wondering if there might be a drug or alcohol problem? Do you worry about their sexual behavior ? Do they lie excessively or spend all their time on social media?
I have had over thirty years experience working with adolescents and adults in various outpatient settings. I currently am counseling adults with relationship and mental health issues and work with both individuals and couples. I am family trained and understand that most problems affect relationships throughout the family.
My therapy style is compassionate and solution focused. I am not an avid fan of long term psychotherapy and will often try and solve problems utilizing a brief therapy model. I believe in forming a collaborative relationship with my clients. I look forward to working with you

I had to try a few different counselors before I found Amy. I feel like we connected well. I feel a trust I hadn't before. She's very knowledgeable and understanding. She listens to me in a way that makes me feel heard. I feel like she understands my concerns and offers great advice.
Amy has been incredibly responsive and very proactive in working on our situation. I feel that she does her best to make time, understand details, and think of solutions. Amy is a problem solver, and her experience plays a huge role in her knowing how to help people.
Amy is a very kind, compassionate and caring counsellor and she helped me stop criticising myself so much, and to accept myself and my life conditions. I’m very happy that I got to know her. Thank you.
Amy Matthews is an exceptional counselor. She always listens to what I have to say, to all my problems, and offers me ways to over come my depression and anxiety.
I love Amy! She’s readily available, responds consistently and checks up on me through the week. Awesome counselor.
Amy helped me going through my hardest days.
I’ve always been scared of counseling and avoided it for many years but this platform made it easier and Amy is brilliant and settled me in very quickly by asking all the right questions. She checks up on me too if I’ve been quiet for a couple of days. Such a relief to feel like someone cares.
Amy always listens to me and makes suggestions that I would never have thought about. She has knowledge about multiple fields. If I don't respond for a couple of days then she contacts me to check in and is very understanding of all my concerns. I often feel like I'm not heard but Amy makes sure that I feel heard and understood. She understands my aversion to medication and she has to provided me the information about medications as well as other options without pushing me. I have recommended her to my co-worker who struggles with similar issues to mine and she already loves Amy based on my sessions that I've allowed her to listen to. Thank you Amy
She is great! Non judgemental and open minded. I would recommend her to anyone who needs help
Amy is real, fair, and eager to hear both sides to guide her clients towards the best possible outcome. She uses her experiences as tools to help lift you up and help you gain perspective on your situation and I really appreciate that about her.
For some time now Amy has been there for me. I haven't always been the best at answering and keeping up but when I need her she is always there.

Amy was a true gem! She helped me realize many things about myself and what I know now to be a family history and a genetic component to what I have going on. My mindful and soul searching journey back to myself and my husband could not have happened without her. Do yourself a favor and talk and listen to her. Thank you again so very much!! I’ll never be able to repay you for what you have given me.

Amy has been available and accessible to me during a busy, confusing time in my life. She’s a great listener, checks in on me regularly, and makes time to spend working with me on the things I need to talk about.
If there was one word to describe Amy, it would be "fair", and that she is. She's listens to both sides.
