About me

Are you a parent who is concerned about your adolescent or young adult? Has your family life or marriage become chaotic? Is your teen engaging in risk-taking behaviors, or are they isolating themselves in their room? Are they having problems with a peer group or having school problems such as underachievement, truancy or fighting? Do you think that they be being bullied or cyber-bullied by other kids? Are you wondering if there might be a drug or alcohol problem? Do you worry about their sexual behavior ? Do they lie excessively or spend all their time on social media?
I have had over thirty years experience working with adolescents and adults in various outpatient settings. I currently am counseling adults with relationship and mental health issues and work with both individuals and couples. I am family trained and understand that most problems affect relationships throughout the family.
My therapy style is compassionate and solution focused. I am not an avid fan of long term psychotherapy and will often try and solve problems utilizing a brief therapy model. I believe in forming a collaborative relationship with my clients. I look forward to working with you

I’ve always been scared of counseling and avoided it for many years but this platform made it easier and Amy is brilliant and settled me in very quickly by asking all the right questions. She checks up on me too if I’ve been quiet for a couple of days. Such a relief to feel like someone cares.

Amy always listens to me and makes suggestions that I would never have thought about. She has knowledge about multiple fields. If I don't respond for a couple of days then she contacts me to check in and is very understanding of all my concerns. I often feel like I'm not heard but Amy makes sure that I feel heard and understood. She understands my aversion to medication and she has to provided me the information about medications as well as other options without pushing me. I have recommended her to my co-worker who struggles with similar issues to mine and she already loves Amy based on my sessions that I've allowed her to listen to. Thank you Amy
