About Me

Welcome!

Adolescence is a period of time characterized by many physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral changes. In fact, many parents may find themselves asking, "Is this normal?" and many adolescents may wonder, "Am I normal?"

In my practice, I focus on helping children, adolescents, and teens navigate through what may be a tumultuous time by building upon each individual's strengths, working on positive communication skills, and helping each child to develop healthy coping strategies. I also enjoy supporting parents in providing positive nurturing and guidance to their children who are on the journey to adulthood.

Developing effective communication with adolescents requires effort. I place a heavy emphasis on providing a safe, positive, and non-judgmental space where an individual may feel comfortable sharing what he/she is thinking and feeling. In addition to individual therapy sessions, I also offer family, sibling, and group therapy services.

Due to my extensive experience working as a School Counselor, I have a comprehensive knowledge of the Special Education and Section 504 Accommodation process. This can be a daunting process for many parents and I offer consultation services for parents and school staff regarding behavior and academic school-related concerns.

I'm not a fan of writing reviews but I'd say Dr Macey is a good reason to do so. She's been a great guide through what has turned out to be a difficult time in life. I'd highly recommend her to someone looking to make sense of a complicated life picture.

I'm someone who is easy to give up on, and I usually understand at the end of my episodes why they drift away. But Dr.Macey hasn't given up. She is so much more responsive then me, and I needed it more then she knows. 100/10 already and we haven't even started.

Dr. Macey was extraordinary in her efforts. Although I only had a few sessions with her, the sessions that I did have were all the same very helpful with my issues. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.

Since the beginning she has not belittled me or even made me feel like my thoughts are slightly crazy. She has helped rationalize my thoughts and emotions and help me dig deeper to the root of my problems. She’s been a joy to talk too and i look forward to continuing to work with her.
