About me
I have been working in the mental health field since 1995. I obtained my LCSW, in Idaho, in 2004. My LICSW was obtained in 2009 and my LMHC was obtained in 2001. Both of these licensures are in Washington. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns including ADHD, anger management, OCD, Eating Disorder, Trauma, Anxiety and Depression. I also have experience working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
I believe it is important for an individual seeking services to be able to participate in creating their treatment plan for therapy in order to assure that their goals are met. It is my opinion that a therapist should be open minded so that individuals are comfortable discussing difficult topics.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
Thank you,
Alicia

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Alicia Powell. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
We have just started to work with Alicia but I appreciate her ability to provide a neutral perspective. She is easy to talk to and be open and honest with.
Alicia went as far as getting approved through my companies EAP program when I thought I was going to have to pause services due to my situation. She is incredibly supportive, empathetic, and I have been thankful to continue services with her.
Incredibly nice and helpful!
I’ve been meeting with Alicia for almost a year now. It has been the hardest year of my life and I definitely feel bad without Alicia‘s guidance, my healing journey would drastically be different. It’s so important to be able to talk comfortably and trust the guidance you are receiving and I feel that with Alicia.
Alicia was my very first therapist and I could not have asked for a more positive, productive, and enjoyable experience. She helped me achieve and grow a tremendous amount in our sessions together and I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone!
She is and amazing person!
Alicia has been very supportive in truly understanding my struggles and needs. She listens intently and offers suggestions that allow me to pursue the best course of action to overcome my challenges. She doesn’t only offer what I want to hear, but what I need.
Very happy with her as a person and a therapist
I feel heard and supported when meeting with Alicia and our sessions have been helpful to me.
Alicia is great! She’s sensitive to my needs and worries. It’s been 11 months since I started seeing her, and I have made progress on my goals I have been struggling with for a long time. Have a king way to go, but yeah for progress!
So far Alicia has been able to provide CBT in a way where we all can communicate efficiently. Improvements with my significant other are there, however we're continuing to grow.
Alicia is wonderful! Super helpful and very nice!
She’s amazing and has been a great support
Alicia is a great listener and offers a variety of ideas to approach issues. She allows me to resolve conflicts and challenges my thinking. I love how she gives me different tips and tricks for potential social situations and doesn’t ever make me feel judged or anxious. I highly recommend therapy with Alicia.
She’s very thoughtful and does a great job making us both engage. I really appreciate her time with us.
Ms. Powell has changed her own scheduling around to make sure she can be there me when needed. Shes a great listener and very respectful of the whole situation. Shes very approachable and makes you feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend.
Alicia is the best therapist I’ve ever had. She is professional, thoughtful, and empathetic.
She is kind considerate and able to help me through the hard times.
Supportive, understanding, knowledgeable and patient are the words that come to mind about Alicia. She’s helped me so much in such a short period of time, I look forward to more!
She is amazing!
She’s always checking in! So sweet!
In just the short time I've been with Alicia, she's already helped me so much. She is so kind and understanding, we have conversations as if we've known each other for years - she not only makes me feel so heard and supported but has helped me navigate all of my emotions and thoughts with healthy, sustaining ways that ground me when my anxiety and overthinking steps in. I'm so looking forward to continuing the journey with Alicia as my counselor.
She has provided some very valuable feedback and directs the conversation in a productive way
She is working with my teen and my teen is improving. She is becoming more confident, taking charge of her panic attacks and depression and teencounseling.coming power over her abuse experience. She has gone from victim to victor, thanks to Alicia's guidance. As a Mom I am thrilled!
Alicia is awesome. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to finally have found a therapist that actually listens and provides Helpful insightful advice rather than your typical “just try thinking this way” bs. I’d totally recommend her to anyone looking for a laid back yet professional, and wise therapist that actually cares.
She has been wonderful. I’ve made a lot of progress in a short period of time.
Alicia was really wonderful to work with. I've been struggling quite a bit with depression, anxiety, and a lot of overwhelming life changes. She was always open to discussing whatever was important and on my mind for that week, available through messaging and encouraged me to contact her if I needed some support between sessions, and even checked in if she knew things were particularly difficult. I feel comfortable talking with her, and she has helped me look at things from a different perspective and ground my thoughts and emotions. I greatly appreciate how she went above and beyond to help me find support systems, and methods to work through things and ease my anxiety. I would definitely work with her again if needed, and highly recommend her!
I have not even had a session with her and yet she is already making my life easier in dealing with these people. She is a special person.
Alicia has been helpful.
She responds to my messages.
She seems educated about things
that people need help with.
Alicia is really great. She listens, provides honest feedback and is always eager to work with me. My mind bounces around a lot and she is able to help me wrangle my thought in for productive sessions.
My daughter is typically very reserved and keeps her emotions to herself. After a couple of sessions with Alicia, I noticed she has come out of her shell a lot more and is the one now who initiates conversations about her thoughts and feelings. She is very comfortable with Alicia and feels safe opening up to her, especially in regards to issues from the past of which she never wanted to address prior to therapy.
She listens to my teen and my teen loves her
Very attentive, great listening skills and very helpful in giving advice
Insightful, professional, and Down-to-earth, Alicia Powell is everything I look for when shopping for a therapist. She checks in on me often and reminds me to utilize our many methods of communication to keep in touch if any issues or questions arise between sessions. I love her attitude and she's one of my top 2 favorite counselors I've worked with!
