About me
Hello ! My name is Alicia Jones and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been in the counseling field since May of 2011. I have worked in the private non-profit sector and had the opportunity to provide a variety of helping services over the course of nine years. My experiences include working with adults with mental illness and mood disorders, assisting with crisis stabilization, case management and supportive therapy. Working with families performing individual and family counseling focusing on parenting, anger management, self-esteem, mental health and family relationships. I spent five years supervising Juvenile Drug Court and outpatient substance use counseling services program working with teenagers and their parents to gain positive coping skills to combat substance use issues and co-occurring disorders. Finally, I am now providing school counseling in the middle and high school setting, working with my clients to address presenting problems including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, social skills and independent living skills.
My treatment approach is client centered in that I try to meet every client where they are at and build them up. My goal as the therapist is to teach you skills and give you tools to improve your quality of life and address the problems that you feel are hindering your life. I prefer a strengths based approach and believe in the goal setting process, taking problems and breaking them down step by step. I believe that all people are capable of change and can provide the support and guidance to assist clients to make those changes. I am particularly passionate about the adolescent population and helping young people to carve their path and gain the skills they need to develop into successful young adults.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Alicia Jones. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
My son has improved with Alicia’s help. They have formed a bond and he feels comfortable to be open with her. She makes him feel understood and supported. She is also very easy to coordinate sessions and responsive to emergent help outside of scheduled sessions. She communicates well with me (mom) regularly and offers support, without violating the confidentiality between her and my son.
She is great!
Alicia is wonderful. She listens and is helpful but she also pushes me to work on things I need to. I’ve had several therapists and she is by far the most helpful I’ve had. Very flexible.
Great all around, understanding and helps get down to the root of the problem
