About Me

I am a licensed mental health clinician in Massachusetts who has over 3 years of experience in the field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse and have worked with individuals who have developmental delays.

My counseling style is very engaging as I believe that the client is a huge component in assisting with the healing process in therapy. I believe respect is very important when working with someone and makes the vibes and atmosphere comfortable for everyone. I also believe that having unconditional positive regard is important in the therapeutic process and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I like to empower my client's and be resourceful when needed. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and mindfulness therapy. I will modify our treatment plan and approaches to meet your unique and specific needs. Overall, I try to set a safe and non judgmental environment.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Shavon is helping my 14yr old son through cognitive behavioral therapy. She keeps in tight contact with me so I can share my experiences and gives her more info to help frame her sessions. She is an open, active listener and her knowledge and experience with teen issues seems to be extensive. I am so happy we found her and give her 5 out of 5 stars!

Shavon is the best. I immediately felt comfortable with her during our first session. Looking forward to more :)

Shavon is awesome and very accommodating with scheduling!
It’s difficult for me to talk about things, but it’s a lot easier with her than past therapists I’ve tried.
Also,I feel like my appointments are actually constructive - like I’m not just being listened to; I actually gain insight and always appreciate her feedback/perspective!!!

Shavon is the best. She truly listens to me and is honest with me. I’m glad I have her in my corner when I begin to feel like my anxiety is getting the best of me. She’s very encouraging and gives great tips for videos and books to look into to help.

Shavon is an incredible therapist and I am so grateful to have found her through teen counseling. I had tried to find a therapist before, but did not have very much luck with someone that was really able to understand what I needed. Shavon has been able to be the support I was looking for and more, I look forward to therapy every week and feel like I am the best version of myself because of our work together.
