About Me

Hello, my name is Sara and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I have over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents in intensive therapeutic and outpatient settings in addition to my work as an instructor on college campuses. Finding help can be a scary and draining experience, understandably. In my work with children, adolescents, and young adults, I use tailored therapeutic approaches that are developmentally appropriate to engage clients in becoming comfortable enough to open up and talk about what is really going on. This may involve play\art therapy techniques, talk therapy, work to do outside of session or even a discussion with other family members (as we are products of our environment). In working with young people I have often found that being genuine and taking an active interest sets the foundation for a therapeutic relationship that is build on respect and eventually, trust. Being young can be really tough and having someone who gets that is important.

I’ve only spoken with her once but she was warm and listened well and was still professional even though she felt like I was talking to a friend.

Sara is professional, understanding, and receptive and gives feedback. She is extremely patient and understanding of the way I speak and communicates effectively to let me know ow we are on the same page. She responds in a very timely manner to my communications and is flexible with scheduling video sessions which is very helpful and important to me.

Sara was very calm and professional and gave me the space to vent my frustrations, hurt and anger which I had built up in my mind. She gave some solid insight to my behavior without invalidating my feelings. I appreciate the fact that she continues to check in and I like knowing she will be available should I need to talk in the future.
