Currently, I hold my Clinical Mental Health Counselor’s license and a provisional Clinical Addictions Specialist license, both with the state of North Carolina. I have over 6 years of experience. I am a certified Life Coach through Liberty University and a certified Yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. I hail from an extensive military background as the daughter of a veteran, (I was a military brat), wife of a veteran, and as a proud veteran of the United States Army, myself.
Due to keeping an open mind, I enjoy working with adolescents/teenagers. I saw a therapist as a teenager which turned out to be a horrible experience. I want to ensure teens have a safe, non-judgmental space to work through the tough home, social, relationship, or school situations they face during this time. I actively embrace culturally diverse populations personally and professionally. I utilize evidence-based modalities including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Tai Chi, Qi-Gong, and Yoga for the residual somatic symptoms of trauma. Additionally, I am certified to conduct Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), which enables people to heal from the symptoms of emotional distress resulting from disturbing life experiences.
I successfully conduct therapy in the areas of substance abuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, adjustment, mood disorders, parenting problems, relationship conflict, self-esteem, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and PTSD. A typical therapy session would include the implementation of psychoeducation, role-playing, social skills, conflict resolution management, healthy coping skills, grounding skills, and problem-solving skills, along with the development of self-awareness, critical thinking, or effective communication techniques. I inspire all adolescents/teenagers to take an active role in their growing/healing process.
I look forward to working together with you along your journey to living a purposeful, victorious life.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Renee Wilson. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Renee is easy to talk to. I feel very comfortable in our sessions and she has been helpful so far.
Renee’s a 5 star human…top notch. I appreciate her kindness and compassion layered with her experience and intelligence…always grateful for the conversations we have
I've been with Renee for a few months now and she is still consistently on point with my therapy. She has offered several helpful solutions to assist with my sessions. When I've shared some of the toughest issues that I've been dealing with she didn't make me feel judged but definitely I felt heard. I am confident that I will receive the healing that I need being with Renee.
I am happy with Renee and feel like we can do well together so I look forward to our sessions.
Amazing I just started but Renee is who I needed to meet
She’s very understanding and listens well
Renee is clearly invested in the wellbeing of her clients. I’ve worked with her for several months, and it’s been one of the most valuable investments I’ve literally ever made. My life has changed completely.
Rennee Wilson is an extremely versatile therapist with a broad wealth of knowledge, resources, worksheets and tools to support you with anything that you bring up in session. She has a very human, down to earth vibe which immediately makes you feel comfortable sharing harder topics with her without fear of judgment. As our sessions have progressed, I have identified and become more comfortable claiming certain needs in life and from my therapist. Renee has responded and adapted her style accordingly - which is the sign of a skilled therapist. I have asked for, and she is able, to provide frank and direct feedback in a way that is non-judgmental whilst being unattached to whether I take it on board or not - reminding me that this is only her one perspective of very many that are possible. This enables me to try on new perspectives and gain new insights or get curious about any resistance it may throw up ... leading to new awareness and insights. Having ADD, I greatly value working with a therapist who herself has ADHD and as she can support and inspire on a level therapists who don't cannot. Our sessions have been extreemely effective for me so far as I continue to make noticable changes in my life and feel Renee has the capacity to be able to continue supporting me to greater levels of consciousness and growth. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her!
Renee is professional, kind and very trustworthy. I feel like I can open up to her in a safe place where I had not ever felt I would be able to, and she is helping me work through some really tough past experiences. I appreciate the opportunities I’ve had to talk to her about things and I always feel better after we speak.
She is a ver understanding and caring therapist that does not sugar coat anything. She is straight forward and her techniques work very well. But you have to put the effort in. If you work as a team together you will achieve your mental health goals. I will not see another therapist but her. She is truly a gifted, talented therapist who loves working with people. You could not ask for another personal for help in your mental health discovery.
Renee is awesome and I enjoy working with her.
I’ve been with Renee a short time now , & I can honestly say I feel comfortable with her, & can tell this will be a great experience for me. I have released information already that has been wearing me down for years. I look forward to working with her.
Renee is truly amazing and because of her, I am experiencing freedom and relief that I have never experienced before. She is the perfect combination of being highly professional and knowledgeable while also personable, real, kind, compassionate, and humble. I am truly grateful to have found her and appreciate the attention and respect she has shown me.
So far so GREAT! Thank you :)
Renee is amazing at what she does. She made me feel comfortable and at ease. She allows you to work at your own pace and guides you along the way. Her suggestive techniques have given me so much relief!
Renee has been great! She's easy to talk to and her demeanour is very genuine and you can tell she loves what she does! I look forward to continue with Renee.
Awesome and very caring meets my energy and has many solutions
Renee is an amazing woman. She is the best therapist I’ve had by far you can fell her genuineness with her patients. Renee wants you to receive the best treat meant possible and if it’s not her she wants you to go and find your therapist that will help you. Renee is extremely insightful and down to earth, she’s also very engaging in our sessions. I am so glad to have found Renee.
I have received a lot of help from my counselor, I am doing better thanks to her aid. I recommend this counselor.
Even after only two sessions with Renee, my partner and I are having all the right conversations to improve our relationship and prepare for marriage. She is honest, open and we love how she gives us concrete goals and strategies.
Insighful, kind, wise, able to communicate with anyone.
I would recommend her to anyone in need and I mean this.
I thank God for her and I was sent to her.
Renee is the best. I have had three sessions with her so far, so just getting starting however I feel confident and safe with her. I have tried many different therepist in the past and never connected well with them. My sessions always felt clinical and strict. So much so, that I summed myself up as being unable to connect with a therepist and that's why I came to teen counseling because they offered typing sessions... and I'm much better at writing my thoughts and feelings rather than verbally chatting about them. I was EXTREAMLY weary. With Renee it's different. Shes real, honest, down to earth, extreamly well spoken, genuine, explains concepts that make sense and resonate. A combo of life experience and education. After the first typing session I switched to video because I felt so comfortable. She not only helps me understand my thoughts but also provides tools to continue educating and bettering myself between sessions. One of a kind.
