About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in working with Adolescents and teens in a Behavioral Health Hospital. I conducted individual and group counseling with adolescents and teens. Issues have included but not limited to grief, dealing with life stressors, trauma, crisis management, and relationship issues. My areas of expertise includes, depression, anxiety, and history of trauma. Treatment plan development consists of a team approach to include family members as necessary, the child, and the counselor. Together we would develop a treatment plan tailored with individual goals for the adolescent or teen, taking into account all perspectives.
The counseling sessions are for and about the adolescent or teen. Effective communication, feedback, and clarification are very important in sessions. Treatment approaches include Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing when necessary or beneficial. There will be as much objectivity as possible, no judgment.
Seeking counseling can be challenging due to issues such as stigma, and it takes a courageous individual to ask for help. Life can be challenging without a doubt, so let me empower you and help you move forward in life by making some changes you feel are necessary.
