About Me

I am a professional counselor licensed in Kentucky and several other states, and I have 15 years of experience working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds. I have worked with clients to face a variety of difficulties and challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, childhood traumas, relationship/identity issues, and career challenges. I have worked with over a hundred teenagers facing everything from adjustment issues, oppositional defiant disorder and depression to personality disorders and identity issues. Maybe you and your teenager can’t quite figure out what is causing them trouble, but you just feel "stuck." I am especially interested in helping teenagers move past blocks and places of anger into a lives of creativity, passion, and joy.

If you are looking for e-therapy for your teenager, I would love the opportunity to work with you and your family. For much of my career, I have worked with children and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient settings. One of the greatest joys of my careers is helping young people move successfully through various challenges. My counseling style is warm and interactive, and I have found humor to be a healing, freeing force for good in our lives. I am committed to treating each person with whom I work with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines person-centered, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral counseling. I am more than happy to tailor our time together and our therapy goals in order to meet your specific and unique needs. Addressing your hurts and hang-ups takes courage, and I want to partner with you to make your happier and more fulfilling life a reality. If you are ready to chart a new path, I am here for you.

I look forward to working with you!

LPC stands for Licensed Professional Counselor, and NCC represents my certification with the National Board for Certified Counselors, the nation's premier professional certification board devoted to credentialing counselors who meet high standards for professional counseling.

Love working with Mathew, not only is he great therapist but he’s also quiet good at helping navigate the switch to therapy via technology and navigating those specific issues.

Matthew is amazing. He offers recommendations and suggestions, and more importantly, he listens. Surprisingly, not a lot of therapists do. Definitely not the ones I had in the past. I continue to look forward to doing my work with him.

It's still new into our relationship but as of now I feel very open towards Matthew and am absolutely looking forward to our relationship progressing. He helps me see things in a different light and offers non judgemental advice. I am glad I was paired with him! He has made me feel like hes trustworthy in a world where that's rare for me. I appreciate that immensely.

Matthew is a great person to talk with when you want to improve yourself and situation. Matthew really listened to my concerns and validated what I was feeling while giving suggestions on what I could do. I felt completely safe and open when talking to Matthew. I really appreciated they way that Matthew acknowledged my beliefs and asked me to let him know if anything came up that wouldnt be in line with what I believe. Overall, Matthew is an excellent therapist.

Matthew, is has a perfect balance of empathy and reasoning. During our sessions, I feel as though, he is not only listening but taking the time to feel my concerns and stresses. Always making sure he questions for clarification and always on point with how my struggles are affecting me. He is excellent at pointing out the positive factors to any situation which helps guide me to finding coping strategies or solutions to eliminate the stresses. He is truly a sincere, trustful, supportive, genuine person first with logic and reasoning, using his natural gifts to make a safe and relaxing atmosphere in the counselling sessions.

Written by T.R on Aug 03, 2016 after counseling with Matthew for 1 month on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related, and self esteem

Tl;dr- He seems highly adaptable to his clients' needs and is very understing of my issues. He has helped me personally a ton, and I highly recommend taking him on.

So far Matthew has been a fantastic help. I appreciate that he works hard to understand my situation, and that he makes sure to adjust to how I best take critique/ information etc. For me personally, I almost like a journal that talks back, and so he has become that for me. He is, from what I can tell, a highly adaptable and understanding counsellor, and has been exactly what I need right now. Someone I can say anything to and he'll reply with his insight into whatever qualms I may pose to him.

Written by G.Y on Feb 08, 2016 after counseling with Matthew for 9 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, grief, self esteem, anger, and depression

Using an online platform for counseling has proved wonderful for my personality. Being able to pour out my heart and cry while in the privacy of my own living room has been amazingly freeing. Due to living outside the USA, I thought getting mental health care would be impossible. Being connected to Matthew Eubanks, through teen counseling has been unexpected but encouraging. His ability to understand what I am saying through my tears and words has been amazing. He is professional, friendly and a great listener. I appreciate his honesty and response time.

Written by J.U on Jan 27, 2016 after counseling with Matthew for 3 weeks

I used teen counseling for a week (which I would have kept if not for my financial situation) by using the free trial. I was matched up with Matthew Eubanks, a fantastic and helpful counselor. I have to say, it was an absolutely perfect match. First try, too. I was a little apprehensive at first, to be honest. But Matthew was such a friendly, non-judgmental, and positive type of guy, that fear soon blew away in the wind. It is obvious he has a passion for what he does, and it was immediately clear he cared for my well being from the start. He is so enthusiastic about helping others tackle their problems. This is a man who truly loves helping those in need. He was very considerate of my boundaries, yet was able to ask the perfect questions to get me to understand what exactly was upsetting me WITHOUT telling me himself (which, in the long run, sticks better than if someone just tells you their opinion). Not only was he positive (but not in an annoying way), he was funny. Humor goes a long way when you're down. It felt like I was talking to an old high school friend, but he retained the perfect amount of professionalism throughout the sessions. Like I said earlier, he is not in the least judgmental. He was very reassuring, understanding and patient with me. I was completely comfortable chatting with this perfect stranger about the woes of my life. And of course, he always provided a realistic, positive solution for every problem I threw at him. He is so full of insight and intelligence. It was a very empowering experience, even for just a week. It was the breath of fresh air I needed to pull out of what I thought might lead me into depression for a fourth time. My two regrets are that I couldn't continue with my teen counseling account, and that this review took me so long to write. I wanted to make sure I included every important part. Thank you, Mr. Eubanks. You're a fantastic human being.
