About Me

The teen years can be frustrating, confusing and incredibly stressful for the individual and for their family unit. For the past 20 years, I have worked directly with teens and their families in various settings across the country. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Board Certified Art Therapist, and believe that everyone has their own journey, as I tailor my sessions specifically to the individual and their goals of healing. I use creative methods to allow teens to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment for whatever they may need to process and work through. I have extensive experience working with trauma and abuse, especially within the dependency system, and I have worked with teens on issues anywhere from eating disorders, ADHD, anxiety and depression.
Teens often may "speak their own language," and I believe that it is important for them to be heard, and to also learn the value and the power in self-expression. All of these practices will develop a stronger and healthier sense of self and allow the individual to grow these practices into adulthood to continue a form of healthy healing.
