About me

Hi!
My name is Kenn.
Welcome to my practice, it’s so great to meet you! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), which just means that I am licensed by the state of Florida to talk to students just like you to work through challenging situations. Did you know that you are closer than you think to where you want to be?
I have worked with students for well over a decade in various settings, most recently as a counselor. I have also worked in Foster Care Emergency Shelters, Churches, as well as local High School and Middle Schools, providing care and support to students. In doing so I have seen that teens are absolutely amazing in their capacity to express themselves if given the right opportunity.
I know that life can be challenging and at times you may feel like you are not doing as well as you wish, but give yourself a break, growing up is challenging, you are learning who you want to be, and you are moving from dependence to independence in life, sometimes too slow for you and too fast for those helping you, that could be reversed on any given day, however!
Maybe you are thinking "I don't want to be here, it's my mom's idea" or " My dad is making me do this!" okay I get it but what if you gave it a chance and something actually changed for the better, what would that mean for your life? How would that affect you, your parents, your friends, your future? Maybe you are just uncertain and a bit nervous, it's okay to feel that way, spoiler alert EVERYONE IS! You will quickly become adjusted as you give it some time.
My style is relaxed, conversational, curious, and respectful of your experience. I work with teens on identifying what is already working in their life and how they can capitalize on that, envisioning what they would like their life to look like, and then putting those behavioral and cognitive changes into action, discovering current and new coping strategies for dealing with those tough spots and focusing on what is so great about life.
I hope that you will invest in yourself by engaging in counseling, whether is briefly or a bit longer, you may start off with one counselor and finish with another. That is completely fine, as everyone doesn't "click", just don't think, "it didn't work" and quit on your what you want. Keep at it, get what you want out of life, live your best life!
You are not your problems; you are absolutely amazing! I look forward to dreaming with you as you continue to meet your goals.
Thanks and no matter who you choose to work with, give it your best!
Kenneth

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kenneth Todd. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.

Kenneth is gentle, kind, and explorative. He asks some of the most thought-provoking questions I've come across in a long time, and feels like a very safe person to be vulnerable with. Though we've only briefly worked together at this point, I feel very confident and happy in our sessions.

My two teenaged are very, very different from one another. They have butted heads for years and recently their tones have elevated to a sense of angst and aggression that is affecting each of them, and our family as a whole. In two sessions, Mr. Todd has gotten them to open up as to their needs, and provided practical solutions to help them relate from one another and fulfill their needs as siblings and family members. I greatly appreciate what he has done for our family, and look forward to the sessions ahead. Thank you!
