I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and I hold Masters Degrees in Clinical Counseling (MS) and a Masters in Clinical Social Work (MSW). I have Doctorate work in Disability and Equity in Education. I have worked as an Adjunct Professor teaching Graduate students for the Adler School of Professional Psychology, and I have supervised interns/externs. I have been a supervisor for investigations for the Illinois Department of Children and Family services for 10 years and worked also with the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Mental Health and Education, as well as teaching self defense. I was the Chief Clinician at Maryville Academy in 2012-2016 St. Vincent program. In 2014 I was ranked 9th in the United States in Shuri Ryu Karate. I have been certified with AFAA, I was a Diplomat with the National Institute of Sports Division of Counseling. I would describe my therapeutic approach as open, using humor, as I recognize therapy sessions should not solely focus on negative feelings. My clinical orientation is eclectic and I can fluidly merge multiple approaches such as behavioral, cognitive, relational, psychodynamic and Maslow theory. I specialize in treatment of trauma, and working with children, adolescents, alternative lifestyles, LGBTQ, and have Jungian dream analysis training. I prefer open ended and free flowing approaches that will include multiple modalities in sessions such as movement, games and artistic expressions. Besides fitness and karate as hobbies, I also enjoy creating art.

I started the conversation telling Kennedy that I was skeptical about counseling and I liked how he was open minded and just chatted with me via messages first and made sure I knew the door was open for a video session. He was also quick on messages and was online for me during a day where I needed someone the most. I liked that he was straight forward, it showed to me that he actually cared. He is very friendly, easy to talk, and has unique 'homework' (we got into using art as a way to reduce the stress of my issues). I definitely recommend Kennedy.
Kennedy is a great listener and really understands what I am looking to accomplish. I am so happy that I have found Kenedy, and feel that he is helping me tremendously!
Kennedy has provided me with a good opportunity to discuss, and think about my problems. Life is ever changing and ones responses to events are not always ideal, my sessions are helping me to understand my own challenges and how to manage them.
Kennedy has been extremely helpful and a valuable confidant.
In a very short time, Ken has had a meaningful impact on my 17 year old son's wellbeing and on our relationship. My son has someone he can trust and relate to, to speak too and him and I have been talking a lot more too.
Kennedy is really good at listening to what your personal mental health goals are, and finding ways to achieve them. He will also suggest exercises and reading materials that are appropriate to your personal approach. He asks direct questions that really help you look at yourself.
Absolutely incredible and insightful. Asks great questions and really makes you think.
Although my time with Kennedy was short it was extremely productive, I found him easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable in opening up.
Kennedy is a great therapist for me. He uses an easy and comforting tone, uses reasoning to make me draw my own conclusion and see things differently, and he is very honest while still being kind. He's a great therapist for anyone who likes to mull things over!
I've only had one session so far but he seems upbeat and open-minded, easy to talk to.
