About me
Welcome! My name is Jamie Sehrt. Helping people has been a passion and greatest joys in my life! I am a trauma informed therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has 15 years of experience in mental health, practicing in an outpatient setting for 5 years and an inpatient setting for 10 years. I understand that many of us endure difficult experiences throughout life, some which may be traumatic. Therapy is the beginning of healing, discovery, and recovery. I will assist you in understanding yourself and how your life experiences may contribute to emotional difficulties, as well as resilience. I will help you look at your experiences, to dig deeper into the root causes of your struggles, and to guide you towards healing. I will work with you to help instill hope and cultivate a deeper sense of kindness towards yourself. I provide a holistic, non-judgmental, and trustworthy atmosphere. My sessions are interactive and are based on your needs. In my sessions, you will look at thought and behavior patterns that impact you, your own satisfaction, your relationships, and your emotional/physical wellness; and also root of beliefs that may be holding you back. Together, we will formulate a plan that will promote your resiliency and personal growth. I have received training in a variety of therapeutic modalities and continue to engage in on-going training of evidenced based practices. I use a combination of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Solution focused, Mindfulness techniques, and is also trained in EMDR (Eye movement Desensitization Reprocessing) trauma therapy. I will foster a therapeutic space to learn new skills, attitudes, behaviors which are essential for maintaining health and personal growth. I am devoted to providing you genuine support for your life goals! I look forward to working with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jamie Sehrt. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Jamie is prompt, thoughtful, considerate, kind, and an excellent listener. I would recommend her to anyone seeking help with their mental health.
Jamie is amazing.
She is so sweet and helpful!!
I reached out in a crisis thinking to get instant help while I could, then long-term intended to find someone I could meet with in person. Instead, she has been so wonderful that I don't want to seek out anyone different! Remote or not, she has been able to help me strike to the heart of several issues already, and is always there to lightly guide me when I need her!
Jamie is great. I know she's listening and I completely trust her advice and insight.
Jamie has been a wonderful therapist. She checks in with me, and has been such a calming and understanding presence during my grief journey.
My daughter is benefiting from the sessions, thank you
Jamie has been wonderful. This is my first time using therapy and she has made the experience easy for me. I can fully confide in her with any and all concerns I may have. She is supportive, offers and explains coping skills that I can learn, and she helps me take a step back and see the big picture.
Jamie has been a much needed person in my life and is helping me improve my quality of life.
Jamie has been excellent. I feel heard and that makes all the difference to me.
Jamie is incredible. She listens to me and has helped me grow and move forward over the months we have been talking. I don't feel I need to put on a face or an act. I can just discuss with her anything and everything in my life I feel I need to. She is a fantastic counselor and I would be lesser without her help.
Jamie is wonderful! She is always so helpful and I believe she truly cares about what is going on in my life. It’s like talking to a friend.
I have been working with Jamie for a few weeks and am already feeling better. She listens, provides feedback and resources to help me through an issue. She is so understanding and is exactly what I need. I am very grateful to be working with her!
Jamie is truly an amazing, supportive person. It feels like I’m talking to an old friend. She really gets to know you. I always look forward to updating her about what’s going on in my life because I know she’ll make me feel like everything is okay.
Jamie has been outstanding..she completely understood right away what my inner issues were and has been such a breath of fresh air.
She is great. She was very open and listened well but can be blunt when necessary
Jamie's calm and gentle spirit has been such a strong support to me as I figure out how to deal with the things in my life. She listens with great care and responds insightfully, highlighting aspects from a new angle which adds to my awareness. And with my growing consciousness, I am able to tackle my issues with a growing confidence. I am so thankful for her helpful hand in my journey to a healthier me.
