Hey there and welcome to the world of therapy! This world can be intimidating but fun and it for sure it will leave a lasting impression (hopefully a good one).
My name is Ivy and I love working with children and young adults. One thing that is hard to think about is that every adult, anywhere, was once a child. I know, its a big thing to think about. That is what I do, I think about what kind of adults our children, adolescents, and young adults are going to become and what we, as current adults, can do to help them.
The world is so different than what is was when I was growing up. I have been involved in working with children since I was a child. I worked with children in special education when I was in elementary, middle, and high school. I was a preschool teacher and a special education teacher while getting my Psychology Degree. I volunteered with children in foster homes for a while and then went to school and got my Masters in Social Work so that I could work with children involved in child protection. I love the concept that a child is changing mentally just as much as they are changing physically and that no matter what happens in their lives, they have the ability to react in a way that keeps their lives moving forward.
My childhood was not perfect, it wouldn't even fit in the great and amazing category. I understand so much of what kids go through and I also understand that everything has a beginning, middle, and end. My work with children is focused upon building a relationship with them in a way that will allow them to let me help them see the beginning, middle, and end to their own individual situations, circumstances, or problems. The way that I work with them is through a very relaxed and comfortable manner. I am not afraid of being made fun of, having a completely not serious meeting, or having a session that is off the wall and not at all related to what we have talked about previously. I tis important to remember that a child needs someone in their corner, they need control over some aspect of their lives, and while working with me, they get that.

I’ve had one other counselor besides Ivy and Ivy is amazing. Ivy talks to me and responds every day and multiple times a day and if I forget to respond.
Really took the time to get to know me and who I was before really giving advice and counselling. So that the recommendations were more tailored for me and my lifestyle.
Ivy has been very helpful!
I am so impressed with this service and with my counselor, Ivy. I’ve been in and out of counseling for basically my entire life, so I know it’s a matchmaking process to find the kind of help that best suits my needs at that time. This resource is so accessible and flexible, so even though I have an unusual work schedule, I’ve had no problem getting help when I need it. And Ivy has really been a huge help— she’s very supportive and helped me clarify my therapy goals & achieve them. Would definitely recommend.
I just started therapy with Ivy and so far so good! She responds fast and understands what I want to work through. She has offered different types of work sheets to help me really think about my self worth and be more positive.
Ivy is lovely to work with!
Ivy responds quickly and reaches out if she hasn’t heard from me in a day or two. She is respectful of my thoughts and helps me to better understand how I can work hard to be better ( which is my goal)
Ivy has helped me find a way to relax. She also helped me understand what was going wrong with myself and my relationship with my family. Thank you, Ivy!
Ivy is wonderful, helpful and insightful!
