About me
Hey there and welcome to the world of therapy! This world can be intimidating but fun and it for sure it will leave a lasting impression (hopefully a good one).
My name is Ivy and I love working with children and young adults. One thing that is hard to think about is that every adult, anywhere, was once a child. I know, its a big thing to think about. That is what I do, I think about what kind of adults our children, adolescents, and young adults are going to become and what we, as current adults, can do to help them.
The world is so different than what is was when I was growing up. I have been involved in working with children since I was a child. I worked with children in special education when I was in elementary, middle, and high school. I was a preschool teacher and a special education teacher while getting my Psychology Degree. I volunteered with children in foster homes for a while and then went to school and got my Masters in Social Work so that I could work with children involved in child protection. I love the concept that a child is changing mentally just as much as they are changing physically and that no matter what happens in their lives, they have the ability to react in a way that keeps their lives moving forward.
My childhood was not perfect, it wouldn't even fit in the great and amazing category. I understand so much of what kids go through and I also understand that everything has a beginning, middle, and end. My work with children is focused upon building a relationship with them in a way that will allow them to let me help them see the beginning, middle, and end to their own individual situations, circumstances, or problems. The way that I work with them is through a very relaxed and comfortable manner. I am not afraid of being made fun of, having a completely not serious meeting, or having a session that is off the wall and not at all related to what we have talked about previously. I tis important to remember that a child needs someone in their corner, they need control over some aspect of their lives, and while working with me, they get that.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ivy Villani. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Ivy has been absolutely awesome. She is the first therapist I have had in my life, and has exceeded all of my expectations thus far. In our first video call, she was able to pin point the main topics that caused me to seek out therapy and has been attentive with reaching out/communicating ever since. I originally had the goal to try out therapy/teen counseling for a month to get a feel for it, and because of Ivy I have decided to stick with it. I am excited to continue my journey with her and I have already recommended a few of my siblings to teen counseling.
Ivy is absolutely amazing! We are going on a year now and I feel so confident in her abilities and I am very proud of how far I have come.
I love Ivy and she really understands my struggles.
Ivy is wonderful and helpful. Highly recommend her.
Ivy is amazing. Very intuitive, great at helping me make connections and identify things I’m not realizing in what I’m saying. I feel no judgment from her no matter what I tell her and I think she really has my best interests in mind and really helps me process what I need to in a very comfortable and compassionate way! Very highly recommend her as a therapist!
She awesome and response fast
Ivy is a great listener and gets me motivated
Ivy has been very attentive to the needs I have had in our sessions, and addresses everything we talk about very respectfully, even asking permission to give feedback. Looking forward to more sessions with her, and would also recommend her to others with a variety of different needs in their therapy journey as well. Her experience truly shows in her work, and I feel in good hands working with her on my therapy journey.
Ivy is amazing! She has truly helped me with her guidance, expertise, and providing very helpful tools to help me be my best self. She listens, stays on subject and is always on time.
Ivy is a very kind relatible therapist. In my current stage of life it's nice to have someone to talk to and hear me out and offer Ideas and support.
Ivy, is professional, courteous, caring and warm. She listens very well and her response time is impressive . This was my first time with therapy and she held my hand through it and I had a good experience. Ivy is easy to talk to, kinda like Someone you already know . 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Great service
Even though we are just starting out, Ivy is getting to know me quickly and providing helpful guidance and practical ideas.
She is a tremendous help and is great at giving me a difference perspective on things
Ivy is a great listener. I feel safe expressing all of my thoughts with her. She has easily grasped the nature of my therapy needs and provided a multitude of ideas for dealing with pain, insomnia, major anxiety, depressions, and social isolation.
I cannot express how serious Ivy was from the start.
She’s engaged, she’s active, she’s very experimental and persistent to the point where I feel like my sessions have been helping in many ways I can think of, I am excited to continue my Journey with Ivy to better understanding of myself and life.
Ivy was the first therapist I was able to connect with in 66 years. I will miss her.
I have loved having Ivy has my therapist. She understands my concerns and offers helpful suggestions and techniques. She is like a friend but is always pushing me to try new things and better myself.
Excellent support and made a huge difference in my life.
Ivy has been incredible. She’s accepting, she provides the perfect insights exactly when I need to hear them. I have felt so understood while having her as my therapist, and she’s helped me navigate through tough transitions like moving, pregnancy, and postpartum. I’m so lucky to have had her matched as my therapist.
Ivy is a great listener, has wonderful advice and super easy to connect with.
For the 1st time in my life I have attended therapy for over a year. I truly appreciate ivy for for the expertise the truth telling and reflection. This was my 1st therapy experience being virtual and also my 1st therapy experience where my therapist gave me small homework exercises every week. I also appreciate The different platforms that we can communicate in. I look forward to each week's session. And that says a lot coming from somebody who would never make it past session 3. Ivy is a wonderful therapist and super relatable.
I’ve been in therapy on and off for most of my life, and Ivy is the best therapist I’ve had. She listens to me and is focused on my goals, but she tells me what I need to hear even if it isn’t what I want to hear, which is what I need. My mental health is fairly good right now and I definitely believe that my weekly sessions with Ivy are a factor. She helps keep me on track when I’m struggling (or forgetting) to keep myself on track and she reminds me of my whys. She also reminds me of my worth consistently which has helped boost my confidence.
I have been with Ivy now for almost 3 years now. She’s been my rock, my help, and my friend. If u want the no BS approach to life she’s ur person!! I really enjoy her and our conversations. She’s definitely one of the best therapists I have ever used.
Ivy is super great at listening and responding with questions and thoughts that clarify so much of what is in my head that didn’t have words. She’s amazing!
She is amazing and very helpful, I always enjoy our sessions. I would strongly recommend her to anyone!
Ivy is one of thw best people to talk to. I was hesitant about teen counseling and therapy in general and after speaking with ivy I've been not only feeling better but working towards having a healthy mind set about my self. 10/10 should have talked to her sooner
I am really liking my sessions thus far and feel that I can accomplish my goals.
Ivy was an outside voice for me as I struggled with parenting a teenager. She helped me see things from my son’s perspective and just helped me think through ways I could change my reactions to help his reactions. Virtual/texting has allowed us to communicate at odd times providing flexibility.
I am amazed at how well Ivy understands me and my issues and how quickly. She has a way to deliver content that resonates, hits true to home, and doesn't feel heavy or overwhelming. I am very thankful to have her guide me on my journey.
Ivy is great at listening and helping me find the question at the center. She checks in regularly and her email messages are a real boost for me!
I wasn’t too sure how it would go transitioning from traditional in-person counseling to a digital platform. Now a year later, I can say I’ve had a very positive experience with teen counseling! So grateful to have had this platform available to me. I have an unusual work schedule and honestly found scheduling in-person appointments stressful; this app makes it so much more convenient which means I’ve been more likely to actually make time to prioritize my mental health. I appreciate quality of care put into pairing people with a counselor. Ivy has been an absolutely incredible resource helping me address whatever is going on and whatever I’m working toward, in a supportive and structured way. I have been able to get through some tough times and refocus on new goals, and I’ve actually been able to feel & see the progress I’ve made over the past year. Thanks to my continued amazing experience with Ivy, I find myself recommending teen counseling frequently to friends and family who are looking for counseling but don’t know where to start.
Ivy is a great listener and offers great pieces of advice that make a big difference. She is understanding and is able to explain everything in a very understandable matter.
Ivy is hands down the best therapist I've ever had. She is excellent! She is thoughtful, attentive and very responsive. We have made an excellent team and I'm so grateful to have been matched up with her. 12/10 would recommend her to everyone!
Ivy has been great so far and we are only 2 sessions in. I signed up slightly hesitant about whether therapy was really right for me. I am already feeling like it was a good choice.
Ivy is awesome! She is a great listener, very empathetic, and is willing to meet me where I'm at. I feel like she has an excellent understanding of how I work and my needs. She gives me tangible strategies that I can easily apply. I would highly recommend her!
Ivy is great and has helped me through some rocky points in my life even if it’s just me needing to let it all out. I have a lot of respect and appreciation for Ivy. Thank you. teencounseling.com is great. Even when there are times I don’t use this app for awhile I still highly support it.
I have appreciated Ivy’s help so much over these last couple months! She is always there when I need her and I never feel judged. She helps me think of things in a whole new light and has so many little tips to help ease my anxiety. I never feel like she’s trying to over analyze or diagnose me, she just listens and gives the most helpful advice I’ve ever received.
Ivy has been amazing!
She always makes me feel grounded and never makes me feel like my struggles are silly. I feel listened to and supported.
Ivy has been my biggest supporter during a time of chaos in my life.
I love working with Ivy. She is a great listener and extremely helpful with tactic actions I can take to help my anxiety, which is exactly what I was looking for!
Ivy is kind and asks pointed questions. I can beat around the bush sometimes but she's getting clarity out of my concerns and needs. She's helping me set up attainable goals to overcome my slump.
Ivy is incredible! I couldn’t ask for a better therapist!
She’s amazing she’s easy to talk to when I feel like I can’t talk to anyone else.
She is very good at what she does. She listens amazingly and knows exactly what to say.
Ivy is a great counselor. She listens and provides advice and tips. She is thoughtful and helpful. She has knowledge of the human brain, and I have learned about myself and people and why we act the way we do. She also provides a safe space to share issues.
Ivy is super nice and very understanding.
Ivy is incredible. As someone who has always teetered on whether or not I "need" a counselor, working with Ivy has benefited me greatly. She has helped me create concrete goals and action plans, keeps me accountable and encourages me along the way.
Ivy brings a great perspective to your conversations. And working with her is so much like visiting with a friend, and yet she asks all the right questions to really get you thinking about things. Her ability to neutralize concerns I have with actions or coming at something from another direction is very cool.
I really like working with Ivy, she's responsive and thoughtful, never judgemental.
Ivy has helped me tremendously in understanding and processing my emotions, especially those that I want to improve for myself and my family’s wellbeing. She’s very thoughtful and empathetic, with actionable recommendations that produce results. I’m very grateful to have her as a resource to talk to.
Ivy has been very helpful!
I just started therapy with Ivy and so far so good! She responds fast and understands what I want to work through. She has offered different types of work sheets to help me really think about my self worth and be more positive.
Ivy is lovely to work with!
Ivy responds quickly and reaches out if she hasn’t heard from me in a day or two. She is respectful of my thoughts and helps me to better understand how I can work hard to be better ( which is my goal)
Ivy has helped me find a way to relax. She also helped me understand what was going wrong with myself and my relationship with my family. Thank you, Ivy!
