I’m so glad that you are reaching out to find help in this chaotic world we are living in! So many people choose to live in “anxious mode”, but by taking this first step, we can work toward changing your life to “happy and stress-free mode”.
Before starting my career as a behavior disordered teacher, I taught at a juvenile detention facility for children ages 11-17 who were incarcerated. I saw children who had made poor choices and were living the results of them, but no one was helping them understand that other choices have better consequences. I went on to teach behavior disorders for 7 years, then became a school counselor. After opening my own practice, the juvenile officers realized I liked working with teenagers who were having issues, so I had many referrals from them. Along with these referrals came students from many local junior high and high schools who were experiencing a realm of issues, including grief, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem, socialization problems, stepparent issues, depression, and self-harm to name a few. These children need to realize that they are not alone and that there is help, and that is what I will focus of doing.
I love helping people change their mindset from “I can’t take this anymore!” to “Oh, life is good after all!” Sometimes another person’s perspective on situations helps volumes, and that is what I do. I help offer solutions using a variety of techniques in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. My style includes Behavior-focused therapy, Person-centered therapy, and Reality therapy, with some Mindfulness all rolled in together to fit their personal needs and unique personality. I love life, and each day is an adventure-I hope that I can help your child on their journey to find this same love of life!

Diana Schaffer is very easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable right away. I felt better after the 1st session and couldn't wait for the 2nd session. That says a lot. I would definitely recommend her.
I am so thankful for Diana. I feel like I'm having an intelligent conversation with someone who is fully engaged in my situation and fully vested in helping me. I am gaining peace and confidence to deal with the stresses and areas of my life that overwhelm me.
Diana is very caring and supportive. She has provided gentle guidance through some emotionally difficult and sensitive things.
My daughter has only had one full session however so far Diana has really been helpful. I have already told others about this service, and i would recommend Diana specifically. She is a good fit for my teen.
I think Diana is right for me. As we have a lot in common, or so it seems, she seems to "get" me
Mrs. Schaffer is an awesome counselor. She helps you & gives you tools to use to work threw your issues. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone who can help give you some tools to work threw your situations.
She's really nice
Diana is her attentive and listens very well and helps address issues and sends helpful articles about particular things we talk about to give extra context. I enjoy every session and come away from each one feeling better. She’s helped to get my mind in a healthier place during this pandemic and I appreciate and look forward to continuing our sessions.
Diana is a great listener and asks the right questions to make me think. She's incredibly inviting and very easy to talk to! I'm grateful for her.
I have only talked with her virtually once but I appreciate her expertise and tools to provide me success.
I am very pleased with my experience. I feel Diana is absolutely amazing! She's kind, knowledgeable, and very relatable. I would highly recommend Diana as a Counselor to anyone interested.
Diana has been great in helping me with my anxiety as a new mom and young with and she’s given me some wonderful tools to use when I’m struggling or to prevent the struggle all together. Also it’s wonderful having an unbiased “ear” to “listen.” Even if it’s really late/really early in the morning I can type up a journal entry and get everything off my chest that I need to and she will respond when she can which I think is so great.
