Hello! My name is David DeNavarra. I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in Florida with over 13 years of experience. I have a Master of Science in degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counseling from the University of Akron. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, mood stabilization, relationship issues, spiritual/existential difficulties, parenting problems, behavioral issues, anger issues, career challenges, personality disorders, codependency, severe and persistent mental illnesses, life changes, addictions, and trauma histories. I have extensive experience working with individuals as well as families/youth.
My therapy style is warm and interactive, treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, while empowering the individual to make goals and changes consistent with his/her/their own internal values. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, borrowing from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, systemic, rational-emotive, solution-focused, and trauma-informed therapies. I customize treatment and approach to meet your unique and specific needs.
Seeking treatment is daunting. It requires a great deal of courage to change your life and seek a happier, more meaningful life. My job is to support and empower you through a collaborative partnership. I look forward to working with you!
