About me
Hello there!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in GA and I have been providing counseling as a licensed therapist for over 9 years.
I work with adolescents dealing with depression, anxiety, anger management, self-harm, eating issues/disorders, self and body image, and trauma and abuse. I have provided therapy in schools, youth residential programs, hospitals, and private practice settings, and I can provide aftercare therapy to adolescents seeking a therapist to work with once they're ready to transition Home after ending treatment in a hospital or residential setting. I have specialized experience working with adolescent survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and use a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) approach for treatment.
My approach to counseling is person-centered. When working with your child I believe that your child's needs and goals are specific to them, and therefore cannot be automatically addressed using one mode of therapy. I work with a range of therapy modalities, and will work with you and your child to identify the best methods to help them reach their goals.
While working with your adolescent my goal is to create a safe and supportive space for them to feel heard and understood, so that we can effectively process and explore what they need to feel empowered and to thrive.
It would be my honor to walk alongside your child wherever they may be in life, to help them strengthen towards their best self.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Mycah Whiting. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
The absolute best!
Mycah is wonderful, caring and a great therapist. She did a wonderful job for us all.
I’ve worked with Mycah for 2 years, and I’m so glad she’s my therapist! She listens well and connects with me well, and has helped me through hard times.
Mycah has been an amazing therapist. It's like a having a conversation with a sister or friend. She's so insightful and understands my needs and issues. She's not afraid to be honest with me about things I am struggling with and she does it in such a loving manner that all you can do is receive it.
Mycah is the best ever!
Mycah is great - every time I meet with her, it's a great balance of getting her perspective on the concerns and events of my life and her giving me the support that I need. I always look forward to our discussions, even when I know she's going to tell me the hard truths I need to hear.
I like Mycah’s relatable personality, she can get through to my daughter very well. I really love that she is African American & of the same culture. We don’t have to spend anytime explaining our culture to her, she gets it. Representation matters. My daughter had started to use the tools Mycah gives her and that’s what we want.
I love Mycah!!! I can’t believe how quickly she has come to understand me and she’s been able to predict my reactions to things before I even tell her. She completely gets me and has given me advice that has already made me feel happier and more heard. I’m so happy I found her
Mycah listens, understands and truly wants to help. I love knowing that she’s just a text away.
She’s the best!!! She just gets me and understand. Makes it so easy to talk to her.
Mycah is extremely supportive. She is understanding and patient with what I’m going through, while also providing me with further insight and thus understanding.
She has been a voice of reason and truly makes me feel validated when others in my personal life have not.
I would strongly recommend Mycah to anyone going through a grieving process, anyone struggling with traumas, or if you are struggling with understanding someone in your life better.
She is helping me better understand someone important to me who has a addiction history and trauma history.
She is quick to respond to messages, and the video appointments always go so well.
I truly appreciate her, in a time when I needed someone the most to process through my emotions, and to vent to.
I really like my counselor Mycah. She is very kind person and respects what you have to say. She makes the experience not feel like therapy, instead it feels like you are talking to a friend.
Mycah has a depth of understanding that is refreshing. She gets to the chase pretty quickly and doesn't judge like some therapists/coaches I've had when I go through changes to what I had previously thought I wanted.
I Love Mycah shes awesome my prior experience with a counselor was horrible and she really understands me
She is absolutely amazing. After struggling with therapists she has helped me so much so far and listens so well.
