About me
Hello! Thank you for reaching out today. My belief is that searching for help is the first step in the process of healing and as a therapist my personal mission is to provide each client with supports, tools and a safe space to express themselves.
I attained my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Washington Adventist University and hold a B.A. in Psychology from American University. I have worked tirelessly within inpatient, community agencies and outpatient mental health facilities with a focus on mood, personality and conduct disorders. During my employment within the inpatient mental health facility I reconstructed the behavior modification system for the child unit in collaboration with the president of the hospital and was a primary team member in the implementation of the first electronic medical record system within the hospital’s history. Since then, I have enjoyed the privilege of working with low income individuals within a community-based agency and currently manage a private practice catering to all ages.
My approach to working with children and adolescents is based in family systems theory. I value a collective approach and ask that family members become active participants in treatment for children and adolescents. I also support the integration of the community (doctors, teachers, other therapists, etc) within the process as well. As an active participant, you will be asked to be emotionally available for your child to support growth throughout the therapeutic process.
Thank you for taking the first steps toward wellness and I look forward to meeting with you soon!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ashley Williams. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Ashley has been instrumental in helping me process past traumas. I have gone from being housebound from severe anxiety to being able to feel part of my family and community again.
She has made me feel more valued within myself and provides so much support and understanding to me! I would highly recommend her to a friend or family member
She is not vague or general with her advises which is what I really appreciate about her. I feel our sessions are personalized and I am grateful for that.
Ashley is intelligent, kind, considerate and extremely patient. I’ve been in therapy for almost 20 years and she’s by far the best I’ve ever had. I pay as much a month for this as I do my healthcare plan and will continue just to have her
Has managed to make me believe i can be better
Ashley is kind, caring, and thoughtful. We have had a great experience with her over the last few months. She is very responsive and understanding. Our teen has really shown great improvement and seems to enjoy her sessions with Ashley.
She’s great, simple as that.
