I have been directing most of my services during the past couple of years towards youth and adolescents who are dealing with emotional and behavioral challenges. I am discovering better ways how to connect with and empower youth with coping and functioning in their home, social and school settings. I prefer to work closely with parents and utilize different strategies and formats to help parents develop stronger connections and interpersonal relations with their child. The types of skills and strategies in practicing compassion-focus skills, emotional regulation and behavioral management can significantly improve relationships and strengthen resiliency in youth and families. My approach to counseling youth is based on the community resiliency model https://www.traumaresourceinstitute.com/crm and the skills can be applied in many different contexts including family relationships, social, community, and occupational or school. I have many years experience in many settings assisting youth and adults with significant depression, anxiety, or other physical or emotional trauma. I use a variety of innovative tools as well as different modalities including play and recreational therapy in order to form healthy connections and identify core issues of your child that create barriers and limitations to their development.
Please do not hesitate to give me a call or email me if you think counseling is the right thing to help your child get back on track.
