About Me

Parents I have 25 years’ experience as a Clinical Social Worker with children, adolescents and young adults recovering from trauma, emotional or behavioral challenges and with educational or work-related issues in schools, group homes, rural health care clinics and military facilities. This platform allows a remote/tech friendly video and messaging interchange between your child and there therapist and you and the therapist. I use cognitive behavioral therapy primarily to help change the thought process and help different actions occur. Parents, some kids get lost in school scheduling, schoolwork, relationships, identity, gender identity, planning for the next school/future, and they need a non judgmental and objective individual to just listen. I can help point you and your child in the right direction and make the steps to a solution understandable and doable. Many young people feel lost when they get into upper grades. No one prepares you for what to do if, you cannot find a job, boy or girlfriend, group of friends right away. It is not unusual to get overwhelmed and even paralyzed, and just do nothing. Rather than being fearful of what is to come, we can change your way of thinking and help you embrace the adventure ahead of you. Rather than dreading talking with and living with your parents, let us work on changing it into something tolerable and maybe even beneficial. I have been working with Tina for almost 7 months. And those 7 months were the hardest I had in years. With Tinas guidance and wisdom I found out things about me I have put deep down and tried to forget about. I learned skills to help me and calm my anxiety and depression. Tina has been very kind and understanding when listening to me just sort of overshare, and as someone who is used to pushing down emotions, it's really nice to feel as if someone actually wants to listen to what I have to say, as well as trying to find ways to move towards correcting negative behaviors that are inherently harmful to me. I especially appreciate how she validates my feelings on situations whenever I feel as if I'm being overdramatic. It's always nice to feel heard, and I feel like she definitely hears me.

I feel teen counseling did a great job matching a counselor that could relate to my life especially my profession. She listens very well and sends worksheets that help with my specific issues. She also will touch base with me daily if I need it which is great!
