About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I obtained my Master’s of Science Degree in Counseling from The University of Houston, Clear Lake in 2005, have been a Professional Licensed Counselor for 7 years and a Certified Texas School Counselor for 17 years. I am also a proud, female, Unites States Military veteran. My Master’s Program consisted of a combination School Counseling and Professional Counseling courses. I have worked with teens and young adults, ages 14 to 19, as well as their parents, families, and teachers. Some of the mental health concerns I have helped these individuals with include depression, anxiety, relationship skills, conflict resolution skills, academic concerns, behavior concerns, bullying, parenting skills, addiction, suicidal ideation, self harm, grief, PTSD, abuse, trauma, and ADHD. I have also worked with teenagers to help them in their transition from high school to post-secondary educational institutions, technical schools, military enlistment, and entry level occupations. I have vast knowledge and experience helping students with college and career exploration, collegiate testing (SAT/ACT/TSIA), the college application process, financial aid, scholarships, and military enlistment, to include preparing to take the ASVAB.
Teens tend to be very comfortable around me and find it is easy to share their struggles and concerns. I am a very caring, compassionate counselor and working with teens and their families, in an effort to help them create their best lives, is my passion. My approach depends upon the individual and their particular presenting concern. I have used Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy to name a few. I encourage my clients to actively participate in their therapeutic plan by involving them in setting goals, then helping them attain the skills to achieve those goals.
I have personally experienced a number of the same struggles many of today’s teens face. I overcame, persevered, and have created a happy, successful life. Teens relate to me because I am genuine. I find great joy and pleasure teaching skills to teens and their families to help them overcome life obstacles. We all need each other to get through life. I would love to work with you and your teen to help resolve whatever problems you are facing and to help your child become a successful, independent, high achieving adult.

Great
Tina has been fantastic in helping me work through a tumultuous time. She is very supportive and provides a lot of resources to help out
Tina is always willing to help you with what you need. She is a great communicator and always responds to messages I send even on days when I don't have an appointment. Tina frequently reaches out to check on how you are doing. She really does care, and she has shown me that on a consistent basis.
Tina seems to just understand me and what I need. She challenges me in ways no other therapist has done before but does it with so much compassion that it’s not scary to face those challenges. She’s just very down to earth and I feel like I can talk to her about anything with no fear of judgment.
Tina was able to ask great questions and provide me with a realistic evaluation of where I stand with my mental health, even within our first session. Happy to have her help!
She is an awesome and wonderful person. You can express anything to her comfortably. I would recommend her, she encourages you to lead a good life. Always available throughout pout the process. Thank you, Tina.
Tina is very pleasant to speak to and she asks questions in order to find the root of the problems being discussed. She diligently takes notes but makes sure that she listens to every word. My experience with her has been great
Very helpful, great support system.
She’s overall a great caring person! She listens and gives advice when needed. She works hard to make sure I am happy and doing good
Tina is great! She has really helped me work through things and given me a better perspective.
Tina creates a safe space that makes it easy to be vulnerable and discuss issues without feeling judged. She is a compassionate counselor that is easy to relate to and she provides the tools and guidance that will help you learn different ways of dealing with and resolving issues.
Tina is so supportive and helpful and shows such integrity as a professional that you feel confident that she is the best person for the job!
She’s AWESOME. Patient, kind, and knows her stuff. Definitely recommend! Like a second mom
Down to Earth. Extremely friendly and just feels like you’re talking to a friend rather than a therapist. She makes you feel extremely comfortable. Tina is also incredibly smart and knows what she’s talking about.
Tina Dominy very good therapist very helpful with a lot of experience thank you for all your help.
She is great
I’ve only been a patient of Tina Dominy for a few weeks but I feel she’s a great therapist. I had a problem during the week days before my video session and I really liked that I was able to send her a message about what happened and how I felt the day the incident actually occurred. I’m also so grateful she responded to me within the hour and helped me through my problem. She has provided me with worksheets, reading material and groupinar’s that can help with my situation. She’s very caring, understanding, and actually listens to you. I’m so glad I was paired with such a great therapist, I know she’s guiding me down the right path to bettering my mental health.
We have only just met once. I am hoping we can get a good bond with her for problem resolutions
She is wonderful and very helpful. I immediately felt comfortable talking to her in a very uncomfortable situation
