About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois with 5 years of experience working as a therapist and two years as a substance abuse counselor. I am member of a TF-CBT cohort where I have gained extensive training working with clients with trauma. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, couples therapy as well as other mental health disorders. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and dialectical behavioral therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Their was a point in my life where I felt that my whole world was coming down. I found teen counseling thru my job, and went for it. I started talking to Tara. Messaging every day and weekly phone calls. It was the best decision I ever took. Tara made me realize and help me better understand about self care. About ME! Because before anything else, I need to be okay. Tara has helped me so much. Life is a struggle, and looking for help is the best decision anyone can make! Thank you Tara!!

I started to take therapy with Tara recently, but she has been really supportive to me! And giving me good tips to calm my anxiety. I would definitely recommend her for certain type of topics! Really good. :)

Tara has been extremely helpful when it comes to understanding my own feelings and recognizing what triggers those feelings. I know I can send her a message throughout the week and she responds back with great feedback. I’m truly grateful for her being there to listen and offer support.

Tara is awesome! She was the first counselor we finally connected with and has been so helpful and never makes us feel judged or insecure. She has a way with making you feel safe and comfortable and I truly feel like we could tell her anything!

I think she does an amazing job. She really helps remind me that it is important to take care of yourself and there is nothing wrong with it. She provides great resources and great feedback that really helps enforce doing what will make you healthier and happier.
