I am Tabatha Gunn. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) through the Texas State Board of Professional Counselors. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX and my Master’s Degree in Counseling at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, TX. I completed the certification process for LPC Supervision at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX.
I have been a licensed therapist for 10 years. I have a passion for working with trauma survivors (i.e. sexual abuse, physical assault, traumatic grief, etc.) and have done so for over 10 years . I am comfortable with people of various genders, ethnicities, orientations, and walks of life. I work full-time for a non-profit agency, Trauma Support Services of North Texas, and maintain my private practice part-time. I am also an LPC-Supervisor. I have experience working with teens and adolescents in the Texas foster care system, homeless shelters, in my full-time job as a trauma informed therapist, and in private practice.
My therapeutic orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and use and subscribe quite a bit of Mindfulness and meditation strategies. All of that aside, I do not believe in a “cookie cutter” approach to therapy. I strive to tailor my approach to meet the needs of my clients. I also see therapy as a collaboration between myself and my clients. Yes, I am a professional therapist, and yes, I do have education and experience using various therapeutic techniques, however you are the expert when it comes to your experiences and perspectives. I think therapy is most effective when the client and therapist work together to meet the client's goals.

I also have experience in Addictions, LGBT, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Grief, Intimacy-related issues, Eating disorders, Sleeping disorders, Parenting issues, Anger management, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder

Tabatha is so wonderful about listening to me and helping me view things from a different prospective. She really draws out of me my core concerns and helps me work through them, and makes sure that we don't forget what we were working on.
Tabatha is approachable, insightful and non-judgmental. Every time we talk, whether it's through text, phone or video, I feel more in touch with reality and have a clearer picture of what my next steps are going forward. I am so grateful to be working with her!
Tabitha has been amazing for my daughter. She has established a good rapport with her and my daughter feels that Tabitha “gets her.” She has offered her sound advice and strategies for managing and overcoming her anxiety.
Tabatha is amazing, she has helped me so much in such little time! She has helped me realize so many things and I need thought I would be able to accomplish these things. I’m so glad she is my counselor.
At first I was skeptical about online counseling session but I gave it a try. Mrs. Gunn has been Awesome since day one. We text a lot and she responded to all my text. When it was time for a live video. Mrs. Tabatha was warm very friendly and beautiful smile that made me feel like this is the Right Counselor for me. She made me understand "why my situation" in a way no one ever made me understand. She is awesome!!!
Tabatha has been a blessing to me in my life in a moment I felt like I was drowning in my problems. I cannot express how much she has helped me in just the few short sessions we have had. I strongly recommend her to ANYONE and absolutely everyone. I have had trouble finding a therapist that truly understands what I mean and what I’m seeking from my therapy. Tabatha knew it the second we started talking.
Caring, professional, and responsive. Makes something I find difficult (opening up and talking about me) a little less difficult.
Tabatha is a very empathetic and knowledgeable person. Her techniques are different than those of counselors I’ve tried before and I feel more comfortable with her because of them. I’m super thankful to have met her and have her to travel this journey with!
I only had a few short weeks with Tabatha Gunn, but they were a very good short weeks. I'm only sad I cannot continue counseling for longer (financial limitations) She was very thoughtful and attentive to what I was saying. I felt like I was being listened to and understood. I also felt like I was learning different ways to look at a situation and that's very good.
Very understanding and helpful. Definitely recommend her to others.
