Hi! I am Stephanie, a licensed professional counselor in both Virginia and Colorado. I enjoy working with teens who want to move towards change in any area. In addition, I consider it an honor to walk with clients who are on a grief journey, knowing that grief for teens may look different. I like to treat the whole person; I see myself as a cross between a therapist, life coach, and spiritual director.
I am a good fit for counseling through online chat, because I'm also a writer and can help you find words for the feelings in your heart. I received my master's degree from Colorado Christian University in 1998 and have worked in the counseling field off and on since then, moving to part-time as I began raising my two, beautiful daughters, who are now teenagers themselves. I have worked with teens in several settings including the counseling office, camp counseling, and my church’s college student ministry.
Connecting people together is something I do best: hearing all sides of the issue and helping find the common ground. This is especially useful when working with teens and their parents. In addition, I encourage those who have a faith walk to see the ways God is moving all around them. I like to bring hope and humor to the counseling session; I have seen that laughter and tears are but one step from each other.
Eclectic in methodology, I stay open to anything that will bring us closer to your treatment goals. In addition to being a therapist, mother, and writer, I am also an athlete, mountain lover, and free spirit. Please reach out! I look forward to working with you.

Stephanie has been an incredible support and after years of trying different therapists, she is by far the best one I have had.
Stephanie is always kind and offers applicable advice and coping mechanisms for my son
Amazing I am still working with her and she has opened the door to my life without extreme pain. This is one of the best counselors out there I personally believe in her and she believes in me and then the fact that she is always there.
Receiving excellent support and guidance from Mrs. Trahant. Delighted to be her client on this journey to better health
Stephanie is reliable, candid and delivers exceptional solutions for me to consider. I appreciate her guidance.

Stephanie has been a remarkable help to me in understanding myself and finding grounding in the chaos of my life. She makes me feel supported between sessions and is kind and professional when we talk.
Stephanie, I know I'm a challenge and thank you so much for taking me on! I'm ready to grow and I am so thankful for your help <3.
Stephanie is really understanding to both me and my partner, really listens to us and it feels like she really cares, even beyond our sessions. She makes sessions fun, and just the person my partner and I needed. We appreciate her a lot!!
