I have been doing counseling since 1998 and have worked in every kind of environment you can imagine. Here’s what I know for sure: you have amazing skills, abilities and strengths that got you through every stage of life up until now. If you are considering counseling now it might be because you feel like you need a few more ideas, techniques or interventions to get you where you want to be. I know you are an expert in you and I am an expert in counseling. Our partnership can make this stage of struggle and strife more manageable, allowing you to grow into the person you want to be.
I rely on a few different approaches to accomplish this. I use Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help explore the linkage between thoughts and emotions. I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address the neural connections between unhealthy, negative thoughts/beliefs and the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. I use psychoeducation to normalize our brain’s methods of managing stress, mental illness/health and trauma. These come together to help clients address anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress and trauma, as well as other symptoms.

My child and Dr. Day get along great. The video conference format is perfect. The only issue I have is only being able to schedule “visits” every second week while still paying a monthly fee due to Dr. Day’s low availability. I believe weekly visits are more desirable.
She is great. Very helpful and knowledgeable!!
