About Me

I consider my therapy style more laid back as I would like to help you develop coping skills and strengths to improve whatever issues you are currently dealing with. I utilize various therapy modalities to include cognitive behavior therapy, person centered therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and solution focused therapy modalities. I specialize in working with the homeless population, families, children, and teenagers.

Children and teenagers go through a lot when dealing with bullying, online learning, and trying to find themselves. As some kids get older they do not feel they can connect to their parents or other adults around them. I build rapport with everyone to learn about them and what makes them unique. Not many people can relate to children and teenagers in this world of technology and lack of motivation through this pandemic. I build rapport and provide a sense of well-being when dealing with an array of personal issues. As hesitant as they are with wanting to talk to anyone; it is important for them to talk to someone other than a parent or guardian as they feel like no one can relate to them.

I've only been talking to Shanti for about 4 weeks now and even though I haven't been the most open guy, more of a bottle it up type of person, she's helped me indentify some of my problems and ways to tackle them and aim towards a more positive and happy lifestyle and so far it's been helpful.

Shanti is a really great ear to listen to discussion of issues while also providing actions/goals to work towards an aligned goal. I just started therapy and appreciate her openness while also calling out various sides of an issue and the reality

Shanti’ is kind and helpful, she checks in with you even if you aren’t able to respond for what ever reason. She makes sure you know she’s there whenever you need to talk.
