I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida with 8 years of experience working in a variety of positions including addictions counselor, inpatient social worker, and foster and adoption therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, addiction, life transitions, and self esteem issues. I have also helped many people who have experienced trauma, both chronic and acute. One of my passions has been working with teenagers and I very much enjoy my volunteer work in a local church as a youth group leader for freshman high girls.
My counseling style is compassionate and goal-oriented. I believe everyone is as unique as their finger print, with a set of life experiences, physical makeup, and social dynamics that are completely one-of-a-kind and all deserving of respect and understanding. So I tend to not stick to one technique, but rather pull from a variety that best fits the individual needs and desires including cognitive behavioral, solutions focused, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy. I want to meet you where you are at and work together on solutions because we all need help at one point or another! The teen years are so compelling as personalities are being discovered and opinions being shaped but are still fluid to ensure healthy young adults that continue into healthy lives.
It it wonderful that you have taken the first step because it is not an easy one and you should be proud! Whenever you are ready, I would love to partner along side you and your loved one and navigate whatever situation you all are going through with kindness and determination.
I look forward to working with you all!

I appreciate Shannon giving worksheets right away. She's been very helpful and I appreciate her responding multiple times a week. I have a hectic schedule and being able to write my thoughts without having to schedule a face to face meeting has been great.
Shannon is fantastic! She comes across as warm and caring as well as knowledgeable. Her input is appreciated!
Shannon has been a blessing to our family. She has been able to encourage and lift up my daughter during a very difficult time in a way I have not been able to. The best thing I did for my little girl was to give her the gift of a wise and discerning counselor who understands how to communicate with her and gives her the tools she needs to develop the strength to confront the challenges she is facing. She gives me tools and ideas to help her as well. You don't have to try to do it alone! Don't hestitate to ask for help and get someone in your corner and help your child move confidently into adulthood!
Shannon is a kind and compassionate human being. She's helped me out in such a short amount of time and anyone working with her would be in good hands.
Shannon is a beacon of light and support in troubling times. She is an amazing active listener and is always open to hear about your concerns. I have much faith in her ability to conduct effective therapy and keep communication open and focused. I believe she would make a fantastic therapist to anyone seeking this service.
Shannon Cunningham is a splendid, bright, positive, experienced and caring individual. She treats her clients with the support that is that of a friend, while still maintaining her expertise, knowledge and professionalism. I appreciate and love her. <3 Thank you for providing this valued service.
