Shanika H. Sanchez MSW, LCSW is a bi-racial, bi-cultural, bi-lingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker who currently provides therapeutic intervention and prevention services to children in elementary schools, grades K-5 through a clinical school-based wellness platform. Shanika is also the CEO of her own consulting services business, Emerald Eye Enterprise LLC, which offers limited applied services that includes: providing private practice individual and family counseling, clinical supervision of Master level Social Work students, and 1:1 Reiki Energy Healing services as she is also a Reiki Level II practitioner.
Shanika received her undergraduate degree in Social Work graduating Magna Cum Laude from Southern Connecticut State University in 2006. She then went on to receive her Graduate Degree in Social Work, graduating with Honors from Widener State university in 2013. After working specifically with youth, adolescents, and families who were primarily involved in the foster care and independent living systems, she then applied to sit for her license and passed the LCSW exam in 2018.
Shanika is highly focused on helping individuals who struggle with experiencing strained family relationships. She has a special passion for assisting children, youth, and adolescents in those family dynamics who may also (but not always) experience symptoms of ADHD, psychosis, anxiety, depression, attachment concerns, family dysfunction, recovery and trauma. She incorporates spirituality, meditation, and Reiki Energy Healing practices into the services that she provides.
The mentality that there is a " one size fits all” to providing clinical interventions for people does NOT exist in the working relationship that Shanika has with the individuals whom she serves. She believes that each person is their own individual and unique self therefore she works from a strength-based perspective seeking out the light and positive protective factors that her clients have within. She believes that everyone has sunshine in them and sometimes it helps to reach into the darkness with a person in order to help them see their own light.
The treatment approach that she utilizes most is a strength-based approach which she believes is an approach that allows her to respect each person’s individual right for self-determination in order for that individual to achieve their own positive level of emotional wellness. Shanika believes that by using a strength-based approach in her practice, it helps to enhance the positive therapeutic working relationship between her and her clients.
As a clinician, Shanika listens very intently to the matters of a person’s heart. She will then utilize professional, therapeutic, and personal life experience gained skills to help guide that person towards creating a unique plan for their own life. This plan will then act as an aide throughout the therapeutic process to identify goals and sort out some of the client’s unhealthy thought patterns, behaviors, and other barriers that may get in the way of a client pursuing and living their best life.
When Shanika isn't providing therapeutic services, she can be found attending her youngest son's football games, spending family time with her adult children, close friends and other extended family members, as well as enjoying being a first-time grandmother to a beautiful baby girl who was born in November 2020.

I feel safe in talking to her. After hearing that she had a similar experience as me, it made me talking to her easier. I love the practice sheets and advice she has to give. She also seems interested and doesn’t talk as much, but more listens to me.
