My passion for counseling initiated working in education with students helping them understand their progressional stages of life. This generation, still learning, multitasking, and developing is gaining an understanding of life while facing adversities of circumstances sometimes beyond their control. This is the generation of technology, entrepreneurship, global awareness and so much more. I like to say, "Preparing tomorrow's future".
My style of counseling is "let's have a conversation." With over twelve years of experience in providing therapeutic interventions and consulting, I aim to provide guidance in areas where stagnation or obstacles hinder clients from performing at a certain level of normalcy. I am a bit intrusive, pushing beyond the "one word" responses to delve deeper into the nature of concern. Notice I always say concern or issue and not problem for we are not trying to "solve problems" but address arising worries. Describing me is authenticity, honesty, a sense of humor, professional and sincere care for my clients.
I believe in a holistic approach to wellness specializing in mental health, relationships, family therapy, fitness/nutrition, and much more. It is imperative for clients to understand they are a part of process included in therapy to not only feel better, but to also maintain a certain level of health through self-care once sessions are completed.

Shamona has been working with my child for a few months now and I'm so glad we found her! My son developed a rapport with her right away and looks forward to their sessions together. She treats him with respect, is patient, and has a good sense of humor. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who has a teenager that needs help navigating through teenagedom.
Shamona has been a godsend for me! She is professional and very compassionate!! She really listens and gets down the root cause of how you’re feeling and gives such helpful insight! I strongly recommend her as a therapist because after working with her for 6 months, I can definitely see a huge improvement in my mental health!!
Shamona is an amazing listener; not only is she funny and personable, she makes me feel so heard and understood and she guided me through my first experience with therapy. Can’t recommend her enough!!
Hands down the best therapist I've found. She takes on a very active role and in just a few sessions, she challenged me to dig deeper and start to find healing. She's also very validating and you can tell she cares about her what she does. When I'm ready to resume counseling, I'll be coming back here. 10/10 would recommend.
I greatly appreciate Shamona. She came at a great time in a my life when things were and still are chaotic. She has helped set healthy habits and goals in order to heal.
Very friendly , Easy to talk to
After years of couples therapy, my husband and I were struggling. I wasn’t sure therapy would help us, but Shamona has proved me wrong. She allows us to talk things through and gives phenomenal feedback. We both feel heard, and listened too. Although I used to think therapy was so heavy, she has shown me that the work we put in can bring around so many avenues towards change for the better. Each session I’ve left feeling better and with tools towards effective communication. I’m so grateful for her expertise.
She is very caring and thoughtful. Always checks in on me and validated my feelings while helping me identify ways to cope.
