About me
Hi, my name is Sean Butler and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Maryland and Virginia. I have been in practice since 2015 in a variety of settings including teen residential programs, school counseling, and in outpatient substance use disorder setting. I have extensive experience in family conflict, bullying, trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, grief and loss.
I comprehend that adolescence is a time of healthy conflict for a family system as the teen steers their relationship within their family and their relationship within themselves. While this has traditionally been a difficult life stage to manage for everyone, our current environment of social media and consistent availability makes this life stage more difficult than ever.
If your teen is struggling to navigate this time in their lives and would benefit from a direct, kind approach to finding their true selves please reach out.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Sean Butler . We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Sean's personal warmth and sense of humor put me at ease. He really listens. His spirituality grounds him and is important to him but he doesn't push it at all. I find him relatable, encouraging, supportive while also asking some really important questions. He lets me take my time responding. He always lets me know how I can reach him if necessary between appointments. I felt safe and understood.
Very approachable and thoughtful. Able to just chat or dive into deeper issues. Willing to listen and consider different approaches to an issue, as appropriate.
Sean has been consistently receptive and responsive. I strongly recommend him to anyone whose kid could benefit from online counseling.
