About me

Adolescence can be a difficult time, with social and emotional needs overshadowing academics and family needs. This is a time where complicated behavior and compromised decision making occur creating a strain both in school and out of school. Communication during this time can become difficult and create dysfunctional interactions. I have worked with children and adolescents of all ages over the last 20 years in various settings. I work with my client to identify areas of struggle, determine how to make connections with support systems available and how to navigate social settings in a healthy and successful way. Developing healthy coping skills, learning how to navigate difficult social interactions, and self-advocacy are key components of my work. I currently work in a school setting so I am experienced in school-related issues, as well as extensive experience in adolescent substance abuse and dependency. Other areas of training include self-harm, trauma, body image and anxiety.

I look forward to working with you!

Sara has completely changed my life. When I first started seeing her, I was in a bad place. Sara helped me get through it, and she continues to. She is very accommodating with a variety of difficulties and obstacles I go through. Sara genuinely takes the time to understand me. She is supportive, reliable, wise, and Sara’s guidance and encouragement has shaped me into a strong person.

Sara is the best counselor I have ever had before. I would strongly recommend her to anyone. For once I didn't feel like I was like a test subject being experimented on with various therapy techniques, she actually adjusted greatly how she worked with me to match my persona. I can't say enough how much I appreciate a counselor who's willing to make a real connection like that and treat you almost as a friend, I think many of us need that level of connection in order to feel that we can really be vulnerable before our counselor. The professional help is great, but at the core counseling is an extremely personal thing, and the combination of both is what makes counseling great. Thanks again Sara!

Sara came into my daughter’s life when she was at her lowest and helped her work through depression. She is kind and caring and a true blessing for our family.
