About Me

ABOUT ME

Hello! I am Samuel Means, a licensed professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania with 13 years of experience working with adolescents to help build self-reliance and resilience.

I bring a broad background of experience to the therapy session through work in Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services wrap around programs where therapy was conducted in the home, school and community. Whether working with adolescents on self-esteem, parenting conflicts, emotional regulation or poor communication skills I always integrate the best practices of a Licensed Professional Counselor and those of an ordained minister.

I believe in the revitalization of a young person’s life by aiding them to develop inner strengths that they do not see at the present. I view my job as a facilitator who coaches and counsel young people helping them to choose to live and communicate better. I work to empower clients to learn acceptance of their selves and resolve old hurts. I employ an eclectic approach to therapy with a keen emphasis on person centered counseling and cognitive therapy.

A basic tenant that I use in therapy is humor which helps to break the tension of defining a problem and to challenge the person’s perspective in life thus far.

I look forward to working with you to start a journey that can ultimately make the change you choose in your life.

He is a great counselor and really takes time to listen. He has great advice and feels more like a friend instead of a stranger.
